Then the thing that moved walks into the corridor, and Joel’s stomach drops.

The warm carpet rubs against her back as she sinks to the floor, belly-up for her owner. Pearl’s fluffy dog-ear headband slips out of place, ruffling her loose hair, her head resting gently against the tavern’s shaggy rug. Lanky arms and legs fall limply around her, the smell of old wood and stinging alcohol overwhelming her senses.
Gem’s on her like a moth to flame, roaming hands coming up to play with her sensitive tits over her top. Pearl whines, writhing on the ground, clenching around her puppy tail plug.

With his back turned to the entrance, he hears something tear. Behind him. No, not ‘tear’ like fabric or paper. It’s more like the world itself is screaming in pain.
The hair on the back of his neck stands on end. Stereotypically. Grian thinks, for a beat, that he might be safer if he doesn’t turn around. Then he remembers that anyone who believes that is an idiot. So he turns around.

The smell of fresh-baked bread and pastries wafts through the room. It turns his stomach ever so slightly, but he pushes that feeling down. Today isn’t a day for bad thoughts.
Vicky is sitting next to him at the kitchen table, the bar-stool seats sturdy and tilt-resistant to hold his tall-and-broad frame. In front of them is a spread of honestly beautiful baked goods, golden and warm. To anyone else, it’s like a dream.
To Mumbo, it’s intimidating.

Presenting his palm, Keralis grins. “Lookie-lookie what I have here, Sheshwam.” He holds a purple fruit, dark, about the size of his palm and bearing an unusual ovular shape with a figure-eight indent. Leaning in for a better look, Xisuma raises a brow.
“Uh, a chorus fruit?” For all intents and purposes, the fruit resembles a chorus fruit. Something he is, of course, familiar with, as a voidwalker. Hailing from the End, his people used to farm chorus fruit all the time.
This one looks a little off, though.

“What do we say?” Cleo asks, fixing him with a stern glare. It sends a pulse through Etho’s core, and he wonders to himself if he’s prepared for what he’s gotten into.
The room is simple. A bed, some bedside tables, patterned curtains drawn. It smells of floral candles, which sit around the room, flickering a dull orange hue. Under Etho’s ass, the sheets are a little rough, but silky pillows brush his lower back, ever inviting.
Sitting in front of him, Cleo awaits his response. He swallows, and offers a smile. “Thank you, Sir.”

Her arm itches. Goose-pricked flesh scrapes over dusty, gritty stone. It’s cold to the touch—not quite dry—harsh against her skin. Gem feels her body move before she opens her eyes, or really understands anything at all, subconsciously lifting a weight from her arm. That weight, she’s slow to realise, is her own torso, pinning it in place.
As she shifts, everything aches.

The cave is pretty well hidden, though since Mumbo’s negotiations with the townsfolk, it doesn’t really have to be. It’s all the way up in the side of a jagged mountain, quite a trek if you’re not fond of climbing. Fortunately, Mumbo is rather fond of climbing.
But he’s more fond of his husband.
