The year is 2013. Abigail Graham leads a less-than-average life: as a high school student underestimated by everyone except her best friend, and as a daughter to Will and Hannibal Graham, a couple who seem to have lost much of the spark of love long ago on account of Will's withdrawal from Hannibal (from the mental state his job leaves him in), and Hannibal's own growing misery in his marriage.
When her scientist friend Doctor Beverly Katz's latest invention, a time machine in the form of a DeLorean, throws Abigail back in time twenty seven years to the year 1986, she not only comes in contact with her parents as they were in high school, but even manages to mess up their first meeting!
But the story Abigail finds herself dropped into isn't adding up. It isn't the same rehearsed story her parents have told her. This time, as Abigail messes with the timeline, Will and Hannibal's seemingly perfect high school romance may take a darker turn - but it may be one for the better. That is, if Abigail can even get her fathers together and fix time, otherwise she may not be adopted by them at all...or worse!
