Summary
Genius, Reed Richards, has been working with Dr. Franklin Storm on a trans-dimensional engine for General Talbot. When, Latverian transfer student, Viktor Von Domashev arrives at Hegeman University, Dr. Storm is impressed by Viktor's knowledge, so much that he asks him to join the team.
Reed is mostly fine with Viktor being his roommate, but his best friend, Ben Grimm, doesn't like Viktor's vibe, which Reed sees as xenophobia. Ben think Viktor is shady, but tries to accept that Viktor is there to stay.
When working with Viktor, Dr. Storm calibrates the Negative Maiden, a capsule designed for trans-dimensional projection, a glitch causes it to activate with Viktor inside. Viktor is transported to the Negative Zone where Annihilus, a dimensional conqueror, intercepts Viktor.
With the death of Viktor having been declared, tensions are high between Latveria and the USA, as he was son of foreign diplomacy.
Five years later, Dr. Storm is on the run, wanted for treason, and Reed is a drunk. That is, until Ben comes home from the military and inspires Reed to rebuild a similar machine. With Susan and Johnny Storm, they travel to the Negative Zone to save Viktor.
Only, things go horribly wrong...
