Dr. Cavallo inspects his paper, 'Rx' visible on the top of the page. "I've got a few prescriptions approved for–" Gerard huffs, shaking his head. "You don't have a choice at the moment, Gerard."
He should. He's an adult, he's his own person. And he knows he doesn't need any of the shit they're trying to give him. None of these medications are going to bring him back to life, so why are they even trying?
"For your schizophrenia," God, how he hated that word. "You'll be given risperidone. You're also being prescribed sertraline, as OCD-like…" the words feathered out, Cavallo's lips stretching several centimeters too wide as he spoke.
His breaths shallowed, finding comfort in curling up in his chair. They're trying to blind him. They'll lie in wait until his eyes open again, and drag him down to where the undead walk. He'll never go home to Mikey.

But things worsen when Gerard accompanies Bert to his annual family reunion, and Gerard soon learns what their husband is truly capable of.

“Do you know what that corner even is?” Ray’s voice cracks as he speaks, not leaving enough space for Mikey to respond even if he wanted to. “The type of people who work there.”
He says the word ‘work’ like it has teeth and will somehow become unrestrained and bite him.
“It’s Thanksgiving, Mikey. Why are you out there? Why don’t you have a coat?”
The questions waterfall, and Mikey blinks through the fuzz that has taken home behind his eyelids.
“Where’s Gerard? Why aren’t you home?”
Too out of it to ask, Mikey thinks. Gerard’s been that way for months- drunk sleep, heavy breathing, no questions. The kind of brother who forgets what bills look like, who still believes debts disappear on their own.
Bert always said it was good to take care of him, that Mikey was built for that kind of repayment. That it’s the only thing Mikey is good for. Mikey hates that he believed him. But it isn’t like he wasn’t a whore before he met Bert, it just became more consistent upon his arrival in his orbit.

Ray stumbles upon Mikey selling himself on a street corner while driving home from Thanksgiving dinner.

Frank Iero... the little nineteen year old punk winds up serving time out at sea after stealing from a liquor store, he doesn't mean to do most of the things he does but his lousy friends convince him to steal some booze from a random liquor store which winds him up stuck out at sea for a month. He knows he should be more grateful for not being sent to jail because of his past brushes with the law, who knows, maybe this forceful trip to the middle of absolute-fucking-nowhere will do him some good, after all, nothing bad will happen, right? there's another boy in the same position but for very different reasons, you see this twenty three year old's name is Gerard Way, he's been sent out to sea for the same amount of time, but not for a crime, he was sent out after a failed suicide attempt, the physiatrists and doctors concluded a more physical form of therapy would better suit his position. the two end up bunking together in the same room and friendship immediately takes place between the two, will this friendship blossom into something more before the inevitable will come and separate the two? idk I guess you'll have to read to find out...
