Summary
We revisit canon from the mixed points of view of Edward Grey and, later, Vincent Savile.
This work will refer to canon events and conversations; until it doesn't. Where we've got the "either/or" options in canon chapters, I've picked and mixed, omitting some, blending others.
We mainly diverge from canon events in that [spoiler] Edward does not cause the epidemic. Because it makes no damn sense.
Additionally - being a Brit who lives close to London, with friends and relatives who've lived there; I have renamed certain things from canon to be more accurate; and I have also fleshed out certain locations. You can find any changes in the author notes in each chapter - as well as any tidbits of information.

Summary
After Caroline returns to Hampshire following Jesse's death, she keeps in contact with Doctor Grey, Mister Savile, and Priscilla. Restless after London, she explores the countryside and comes into her own as she bargains with the non-humans she finds there. She records these changes in her correspondence both with the three friends she has left and in unsent letters to Jesse.
While she longs for all three she left behind, she learns that these longings are very different. She longs for Mister Savile's freedom and Priscilla's company, but her longing for Doctor Grey is a balm in both her dreams and in her heart.

It would have been so interesting to go on a totally divergent story in the countryside--but thinking like a mobile game dev--it wouldn't be worth the effort and wouldn't pay off. It works in fic form, but not in VN form bc imagine not seeing the characters you came for for a whole chapter T-T

I love Shadows of London, it's one of my favorite books on TP. Unfortunately, the devs don't seem too keen to finish it. I think that sucks. So, I've poured over every stage of the book again and again, and taken suggestions from other users to bring you what I believe is at least similar to the ending that was supposed to be written a long time ago to a book that I and many others adore. So, without further ado, I bring you my continuation of SoL: Darkness Over London.
