Summary
The Hyperforce is searching for a mystic artifact on an unfamiliar world. An urban world teeming with the seediest of lowlifes-thieves and murderers and those who wouldn't hesitate to kidnap, injure, maim for profit. Jinmay finds herself lost in the maze of crowded, dark alleyways, and runs upon a gang out for profit, and of course a high-tech android in amazing condition is worth a mint, right? But to Chiro, she's not just an android. She's a friend... a teammate... and the one he loves most. And so he must find her and bring her home safe once more.
Chiro felt his vision tinge red. “I’m going to ask nicely one more time. Let her go,” he growled, voice low and menacing. “She isn’t yours. She’s not a thing. She’s a person with people who care about her. Drop her, and get out of here.”

Once upon a time, in Shuggazoom City, lived a pair of siblings who loved each other very much. The boy had a magical destiny—he was to become the blade that would shatter the darkness that threatened to destroy the universe. And the girl would become the shield to guard him, to protect him from everything the universe could throw at them.
Amber Rinelli knew her brother better than anyone. She knew that Chiro had wanted to be a hero his entire life. When he was given the opportunity to realize that dream by becoming leader of the Hyperforce, she watched him go with a little bit of worry. She loved him too much for anything to happen to him, and she knew that the life of a hero was a very dangerous one. But as Chiro went along his hero’s journey, Amber found herself getting wrapped up in the middle of all the Hyperforce’s troubles as well. And so Amber’s story became the story of two siblings, five cyborg monkeys, a robot girl, and a super robot—a team, a family bonded in love and light, that would stand tall against the forces of darkness.
(Or, it’s basically a show rewrite from the POV of Chiro’s sister!)

Summary
2000 years ago, the monkey team was quested with guarding a powerful relic from the evils of the skeleton king. However, one of the allies betrayed them wanting to use its power for himself. Acting quickly, the remaining monkeys stole and hid it from him, as well as the Monkey Coin, the source of their comrade’s power. Years later the Monkey Coin falls into the hands of a young boy who is believed to be the chosen leader of the Hyperforce. Now he must become that hero and save his town of Shugazoom City from a friend turned foe.

This is a fic I made and published in mid-2016 on Fanfiction.net. In contrast to the 2k+ SRMTHFG fics over there, though, AO3 only has 146 fics as of writing this summary. Plus, it's interesting to see how I've grown as a writer! So, I decided to bring it over here. It is completely unedited except for moving chapter titles and author's notes to their designated places, as well as my work skin automatically adding indents to each paragraph.
Please note that while I am not putting my usual "I accept all constructive criticism" message here, that does not mean that I won't be accepting any. It just isn't as applicable to this fic because of how old it is.
ORIGINAL SUMMARY: "An orphan boy named Chiro is exploring the outskirts of his hometown of Shuggazoom City when he discovers a giant robot. Much to his surprise, the robot monkeys inside talk to him and ask him to be their leader. Chiro, on the other hand, is not so sure if he can do it. Prequel to the series."
