The “fae” swallows roughly, somewhat worried that horse might bite him. “I- uhm..”
“I haven’t seen you before. Where are you from, kid?” The pink-haired man interrupts.
Good question. He sure as hell can’t tell the truth, so he thinks fast.“I’m from uh..” He vaguely gestures in a random direction, hoping to trick the man into filling the blank for him.
The rider looks at where Tommy waved toward. “Logstedshire?” he guesses.
“Yeah.” Totally.
Or: Tommy was never meant to go beyond the border of his dark kingdom. But once he experiences the other side-- once he finds a family on the other side, he has to choose one place to call home.

Summary
Technoblade has always tried his hardest to be a good brother and caretaker for Tommy. It was just them versus the world, but the burden of Tommy's slowly declining health has led to severe financial strain over the years. In the past, Techno has turned to an unorthodox form of employment to make money, working as a soldier in the annual deadly Games that pit people against one another in hopes of winning the life-altering cash prize in the end. After a few years of service, Techno swears off the Games for good, determined to live his life without the need to kill anyone else.
That is, until one day Tommy's health finally fails him, and Techno is forced to return once more to make enough money to afford the surgery to save his brother's life.
He had just never expected that, during said Game, he would look down his scope and find his own brother as a player.

“You— you actually came.” Tommy gasps, bracing himself on one raw forearm. His head is pounding, a pang of guilt echoing through his body like a plate dropped in a silent room. Everything hurts, but how could he focus on the pain when Techno is right here, standing in front of him, protecting him like it’s the simplest thing in the world?
“Of course I did.” Techno glances back, his eyes relaxing as soon as they land on him, gaze soft unlike his bruised knuckles. “You called for me. I’ll always come when you call.”
OR IN WHICH Tommy is disabled in a world of witches and familiars, literally years behind in bonding with his stoic boar companion, Techno. A not-so fun surprise from some of his classmates forces him to ignore the crushing self-doubt he feels and call on him anyways.

"As for a wheelchair, I see no need. You could always just get one from ALDI if you're really that desperate." The doctor chuckles, and rage flares in his chest, sharp and viscious.
Tommy wants to speak, but no words form. He wants to protest, but they keep talking.
He isn't going to get a hospital chair. They're heavy, hard to move, hurt to push and just cause more issues in the long term. Tommy is losing mobility and even further than that, independence. It's terrifying, and nobody will listen to him. Tears sting behind his eyes, but Tommy refuses to let them fall.
What Tommy needs is a custom wheelchair that won't cause him harm.
Currently, he can't go outside without experiencing pain. He can't get to school, he can't make it through a school day. Tommy, with his current level of mobility and support, cannot properly live without hurting himself in some way.
Or; Unhelpful doctors and unsupportive parents.
Or or; The author isn't having a great time so now it's Tommy's problem.

Tommy was too young to remember the first time he scraped his skin hard enough to bleed. According to his parents he was barely two, just learned to walk and immediately chose to run.
He’s always been that way, it seems. Rushing onwards to seize every new opportunity without a moment’s hesitance. Tommy is sure that when he fell, he got right back up. He’s sure he only laughed and kept on running, paying no mind at all to the trickle of blood dripping down his puny, pudgy leg.
That is - until the bleeding didn’t stop.

'I'll never be able to do the things I used to.'
The thought hits Tommy like a freight train, the aprubtness startling him. But it's right, and Tommy finds that tears have started to gather in his eyes.
He will never live a normal life. He will never run and chase after his friends again. He will never go on a walk and get home feeling no pain again. He will probably never get a good job. He will never be fully independent. He will never experience a pain free day again. He will never walk more than five minutes unassisted without pain or without hurting himself in some way. He will never walk quickly again without hurting himself. He will probably never have full control of his body again. He will never go outside without at least one person glaring or staring at him, and maybe hearing another, much braver person shouting some abelist bullshit at him.
Tommy finds himself crying.

Tommy doesn't even get to insult Wilbur before someone else is speaking.
"Excuse me? Just because he is in a wheelchair doesn't mean you get to use him as a personal shopping cart. This is ableist." A shrill voice complains, and they both turn to see a very steriotypical Karen in front of them. "You should know better." She says, crossing her arms and glaring at Wilbur with a very sour expression.
Wilbur pulls a face like he's just heard the stupidest thing ever. Karen evidently does not take this well, huffing loudly.
Or; Tommy, an ambulatory wheelchair user, enjoys the freedom his chair brings him, despite the Karen he and Wilbur run into.
