“This was your plan,” Clancy hisses, “not mine. You let me believe that it would work—that I would be free.” Pointing to his blood-red robes, he bares his teeth, an animal caught in a snare. “Look at what I have become instead.”

Summary
When you hear the news, you’ll scratch another tally mark on the last page, your eyes still wide with disbelief as you slowly close the cover. Will you cry? Will you live your life in mourning? Will you stay alive for me, or do the unthinkable? I hope we never have to answer these questions. I hope we make it out alright, love. I really hope we do. And I would love to say I fully believe we will, but if that were so, I wouldn’t be writing this.
~
That Clancy’s a bishop now. Torchbearer’s not ready to move on.
Told in 14 chapters, each based off a song on Breach (in reverse order). Whole fic based especially on Tally :)

Summary
"The rider’s features cut sharper into focus.
The crimson of the cloak, the inked darkness carved across his jawline, the posture so unnervingly regal.
His eyes, those same dark eyes the Torchbearer knew better than he wanted to admit, lifted to meet his own.
The Nova Bishop met his stare, cold and stony."The Torchbearer and the Nova Bishop meet for the first time since the battle.

Summary
"I'll show up when you need me," Neil assured him. "Sahlo folina."
"...Then why haven't you shown up before?" It sounded caught between an accusation and a sigh of defeat.
"You... weren't ready, yet," Neil said slowly. "And you haven't... attempted before." It was such a hard thing to talk about, the fact that he'd had to watch Clancy over and over again try- and sometimes succeed- to take his own life.
"So I have to fucking try to kill myself for you to help?!"
"It's not that easy." Neil hesitated. "I only have so much power... And you have to be ready to accept help."
"What does that mean?"
"...you're destined for very great things, Max," Neil said softly. "When you're ready for them. But not yet."

Summary
The absence of sound had not been so peaceful when the Torchbearer left; a desperate silence that had both men pleading for the other to just say something. The unspoken knowledge that Nova would have dropped the robe if Torch had asked, begged, for him to stay by his side. But, for the sake of pride, neither man had uttered those words, and the cycle was set to repeat itself once more.
Nova had shut the light out of his room, and in doing so, shut the Torchbearer out of his life.
or: Bishop Nova hasn't been able to face the sun ever since the Torchbearer left.

Summary
Torchbearer goes to find Clancy in the tower but once he sees what he's become he can't will himself to leave him in the tower.
Clancy's grip on his chin lingered, the ash covering his hands transferring leaving black ash stained marks under his jaw. “Wouldn't it be so easy to just give in?” His hand slowly glided down his neck, fingers hovering over his skin, taunting him.

Summary
“Are you going to join them?”
For the first time, Torchbearer’s face is filled with pure terror.
An old ache twists in his chest. “No,” Clancy says softly. He glances down at his blackened hands, before plucking out a small golden daisy from the crown. “I just want to be left alone.”
“You are not a weapon,” Torchbearer repeats again. “They call you one, the revolution needs you as one, but you yourself are not the weapon, Tyler, believe me, you are-“
“I am a Bishop,” Clancy says. “I am also a Bandito.” He looks up, a glint in his eyes. “Can’t I be both?”
8 times Clancy tries coming to terms with his nature, and 1 time he finally confronts it.
In his own way.
Even if that means hurting the only person who ever loved him.
(An introspective character study of Clancy and his thought process up to City Walls).

Summary
Clancy’s world is gray and controlled, ruled by the Bishops of Dema. When a risky plan takes him beyond the city, he meets Torchbearer and the Banditos, who awaken color, hope, and forbidden feelings in him. Their connection is fleeting, fragile, and tragic, crushed by the city’s relentless hold. In the end, Clancy survives only by becoming one of the Bishops himself, his love and freedom sacrificed to the system he once tried to escape.
