Summary
As Commander Shepard chose to control the Reapers, her body did not disintegrate instantly. Instead, it was enmeshed into machinery at the heart of the Citadel, leaving a chance to extract her. And that is exactly what happens behind the scenes; soon enough, the brand new Quarian/Geth embassy on the Citadel receives most unexpected visitors.

Summary
Years after the Reaper War, Tali and Garrus start thinking about children, and, in typical Normandy fashion, 'accidentally' start a family... as in a kid practically gets thrown at them and, being the suckers they are, they get attached in less then five minutes. They get this whole parenting thing down surprisingly well, and things go great at first.
Then the galaxy goes to hell in a hand basket again... also in typical Normandy fashion.
Or; that time a Talibrations happily ever after went wrong, because of course they can't have nice things, and neither can their son.

Summary
Shepard grows up in war. Lanky and skinny, with bandaged hands and bloody teeth. Her entire life is movement, one run to another, one more, one more, one more. No one stops her so she doesn’t.
Even after the Alliance snaps her up—tells her she’s eighteen now and never ran with the Reds—she doesn’t stop. Her Drill Sargent and then her Commanding Officer point her towards a goal and she asks “what else?”
She doesn’t stop until Torfan.
Or: Shepard’s life and deaths.

A 50,000 year old failed mission and an insane mercenary thought to be dead have combined into a deadly powder keg that they'll have to work together to defuse... somehow.

Summary
“J-Joker,” she manages, panting from the effort.
“Thank fuck. Dammit, thank fuck.”There’s a shuffling sound, the rustle of fabric and a long, deep groan of pain. Then, warmth, blessed warmth exploding over her skin. It takes a moment for her fried nerves to identify the source of the holy feeling. Joker wrapped his hand around her right wrist, one of the only parts of her body that isn’t constantly screaming at her to take a bullet to the head and end the torture.
“Wassup,” she chokes out.
A hysterical chuckle escapes from Joker’s mouth, right next to her face. She can feel his warm breath on her bruised cheek, and the feeling settles something wild inside of her.
“What’s up, she asks, buried underneath forty tons of snow and concrete.”

Summary
Dinner is at a series of food trucks in a brightly lit part of Omega, strings of lights lit up between all of them forming a multicolor canopy above them.
“Damn,” Shepard says as she surveys it. “I could’ve worn the leather jacket.”
“Shep, why would I take you somewhere you can’t wear the leather jacket?” Kasumi, who has absolutely required her to get into an absurdly fancy dress for a mission, says innocently. Garrus eyes the place but doesn’t seem like he’s too on-edge, like this place is a no-go for him the way some areas of Omega are. “Do a loop and then split up? Send a message when we find a table?”
It’s the lowest stakes mission she’s had to coordinate in ages. Shepard hooks her index and middle fingers in against one of Garrus’ and tucks in close. “Let’s go.”

Summary
“Nobody knows why we got these,” Kezk shrugs when Aubine asks about the words painted over her armored hump, “Some people say they’re reminders of people that affected the course of our lives. Some people say they’re soulmates or some other bullshit like that.”
“What do you say?”
Kezk laughs and slaps her tiny shoulder. “I say that if you ever want to charge like a krogan, you’ve got to get a handle on those biotics first.”Aubine Shepard has more words on her than anyone probably should. She has dozens of 'thank yous,' several sets of words from those she's fought and come out the only one standing, and a set of sapphire on her arm she uncovers when she needs to. She's a war hero, one of the most famous Alliance operatives at this point, so she supposes it's a little expected.
The Reaper is not.
(Or: a soulmate mark subversion that follows Shepard through the trilogy, looking at the consequences of the trope. Like words from a Reaper.)
