Peace was always going to be broken one day.
Ever since the end of the X-Program, the Digital World had known peace, albeit one unsettled by a new reality of unforeseen consequences. Still, those who remained lived long enough to guide and teach the next generations, who have gone to teach those who came after them, and bit by bit, the population of the Digital World grew. Their children have since returned to the cities, to society, and to civilization. And despite the occasional boiling over of disputes, even the most militaristic and aggressive rulers have been kept in check.
But nobody was ready for the disaster that was to come. Has this sudden jolt of violence merely sowed the seed of unrest? Already the Kans of Waitarō and Akoaepa have warred, and Chokan and Razakesa are not far behind the path to conflict. The birds of prey, those dastardly warmongers, have begun to circle. Will the cataclysm that all Digimon face be the lit fuse that sets off the powderkeg?
And perhaps more importantly, what do those foreign artifacts scattered throughout the Digital World have to do with the chaos?

The second season of YuYuGiDigiMoon. Originally released on FF.net between Sept. 2005 and Jan 2008, this story takes place roughly eight months after the Wrath of Pharaohmon. Following Pharaohmon and his cohorts' defeat, our heroes enjoy peacetime until a new enemy descends.
The Rajita, a malevolent alien enemy of the Sailor Senshi, arrives and uses the power of the Orichalcos to steal the souls of the people of Earth. The Tamers awaken the spirits of the Four Saint Beasts (Suzaku, Seiryuu, Genbu, and Byakko) and receive new powers (and training from the Sailor Senshi) with which to fight. Meanwhile, Kaiba tries to fuse the Digital World with the world of the Duel Monsters, but due to a slight miscalculation, it works a little too well and the Rajita uses it to capture the Digimon Sovereigns.
