Alongside them, other key figures—Raoul, Meg, Madame Giry, Nadir, and Darius—play important roles as they each navigate the changes brought by Christine’s choice.

    This work started out because I have a real love-hate relationship with the Love Never Dies musical. I love the music, but I don't like what has happened/what happens to all the characters. I thought it would be fun to give the musical a thorough makeover. I have a complete rewrite of the lyrics and story for a musical format, but because writing it in story form allowed me to delve deeper into the psyches of the characters, I decided to also develop a written version and post that online.

    This version of the story is set 7 years after the events of TPotO and plays in London. I like to show that all the characters carry the events of the prequel with them in some form, so it may be a little noir, but true love also certainly plays a role (more so than in the original LND I believe).

    Either way, I hope that all the Love Never Dies fans and haters out there may enjoy this new take on the story as much as I enjoyed writing it. Perhaps the paint can dry one day.

    [ON HIATUS: so sorry besties but I'm gonna rewrite this so it has, like, a plot. I also shortened the work summary so I can fit this announcement without exceeding the character limit but the full summary is in the first chapter. <3]

    Raoul's finally back home, short one leg but basking in the warmth of his family's approval. That is, until he starts to feel like a prop in the senate race more than a person. When he reunites with a childhood friend, his family gets notably colder towards him. How come? Erik has one whole friend, health insurance, and a house he owns. And yet, because God is dead and life is cruel, he still feels like shit all the time. After a fateful meeting involving mace and music, his life might just turn around for the better. Until that meathead boy, son of that skinhead senator, butts in. Christine Daae is out of money, out of parents, and out of hope. It's hard to pay for college and medical debts that were never yours when you work at a Waffle House. When she runs into her creepy neighbor at a bar, she discovers a chance to earn money using the best gift her parents gave her: her voice.
