After the awful, disastrous three-way with Craig and Hawk on Fire Island, Tim comes down to breakfast, fully expecting Rafael to walk him to the ferry.
He walks down the short corridor to the few steps that lead into the living room, half-dreading that Hawk will have just gone straight back to the bump, anything to deaden the pain. Instead he’s sitting at the table in a floral silk robe, red-rimmed eyes, fingernails bitten down to the quick.
“Everyone else still asleep?” Tim asks, as he puts his brown leather bag down near the door, hesitating to join Hawk at the table. He feels overdressed, as he has so often these last few days, in his checked flannel over a white T-shirt, his jeans where everyone else has been in shorts or less.
“I… kicked them out.” Hawk’s voice is rough, the echoes of his sobbing last night, inconsolable in Tim’s arms. He almost sounds surprised at himself, unsure that what he’s saying is true.
[A canon-divergent fix-it where Tim stays in Fire Island for an extra week while Hawk detoxes and they discover whether they can trust each other with their truth.]

For several more moments, Crowley was stifled with horror and indecision. His lover was offering no explanation or help and his own understanding of whatever was happening was minimal. Fearing for Aziaphale’s safety, Crowley had no choice but to make a decision and do something. Whether it was the right choice or not, he couldn’t be sure but at the very least, he could make his angel more comfortable. He dug through his memory of what humans do when they’ve feverish and instantly miracled the duvet off the bed before gingerly pulling Aziraphale into a more agreeable position: stretched out on his back with a pillow under his head and a thin sheet covering him.
He kissed Aziraphale’s glistening brow and promised, “Just stay here. I’ll be right back. You’re going to be alright, Angel.”
And with that, he ran downstairs.
