When Dib crashes on a planet in the middle of nowhere, he expects to be alone while he waits for assistance. Luckily (or unluckily) for him, he isn't. Zim is marooned on a planet after one too many steps out of line. He doesn't expect some stinky weirdo to fall out of the sky.
Or, two idiots fall into an uneasy friendship while trying their hardest to repair a ship, and get pulled into the found family trope along the way.

Dib is just a boy but deals with struggles that one shouldn't go through. But shrouded in autumn mist was someone there to help him get through the thick fog along the way. Even if it was someone he sworm to hate. But.. (All the people in my story are 17 or older unless they are adult figures, as in a teacher, a parent, etc. Zim and Dib are both 17.)

Zim and Dib are in Hi-Skool now, still enemies and still fighting, when the apocalypse comes. An infestation of brainwashing alien leeches known as Lemsworth spreads throughout the town, zombifying its victims, and threatening to take over the world before Zim can. Begrudgingly, the two team up in a battle to save the Earth from its doom by pestilence. Of course, getting along is easier said than done, and Dib and Zim find themselves in the midst of an emotional reckoning among sewer-crazed hypnotics, alien death cults, and ghost moms.

After graduating high school Dib takes on an internship at Mysterious Mysteries and starts his life as a paranormal investigator! After suffering a brutal attack Dib is left emotionally and physically scarred, and Zim doesn't know how to help. Like he really wants to but humans are weird and oddly emotional and he's trying his best. Dibs is bad at expressing emotions so the whole thing is just a mess. Please know that there's going to be some blood/gore in here! I will include warnings before the chapters, but please don't read if you're sensitive to that stuff! There will also be no smut, but definitely lotsa of snuggles and fluff!
