Summary
"Pangako" is a Filipino word that is meant to portray a lifelong vow or promise.
Caden and Valerius are a year into their relationship now as mates. It was a difficult process but Caden had finally been appointed as a new king, alongside Valerius, just 3 months before. However, the more Caden was immersed into the world of being a king a respectable figure of the people, the more he realized how much work it actually took. Slowly but surely, Valerius had spent less time with him. Caden chalked it up to the job being demanding and busy, running a kingdom wasn’t easy of course. He told himself that he was being too clingy and needy, that he needed to control himself.
One day, during yet another publicity event for his new appointment as king, Caden was led into a room by a stranger whom he thought was nobility. He then woke up to a dark room, with no recollection of how he got there and who took him there. Now, with their king having been abducted, the castle goes all their own way to find him, at least before it’s too late.

Malakai (Syrin) hasn’t had a great life, but as many people on the internet have pointed out. What traumatises you makes you funny. So he decided to start a youtube channel to focus all of his emotions outwards, to random people he doesn’t know in a different universe. You know, like a normal person, because what normal person doesn’t have the technology to communicate across universes and still somehow get paid for it. Most people just don’t do it because it's difficult and probably against tax regulations. Right…—----------------
The first chapter is how I believe the immortals came into existence, but the rest is just silly shit I’m writing, cause I’m kinda upset that Reith keeps insinuating that there is a big power gap between Kaly, Eyros and everyone else. Like don’t get me wrong I don’t disagree, but I don’t really like the highlight that has been put on this. In my opinion it’s dragging the others down and that makes me kinda sad.
Ps. Why is Helm the only one -next to Daemon- that doesn't have a Y in his name. Like come on boy you are standing out. (oops I forgot about Lethe)

Caden was not the only Bryce child insane enough to do something crazy in order to protect those around him. Because of this Illarion nearly gets shot out of the sky by a little girl wielding fireworks.

The Bryce family are moved into the castle the night of the bomb threat incident, and the next morning Tilly runs away for a day and accidentally creates a political incident when she scolds Illarion in the middle of dragon strike square.
This will mainly focuses on the platonic friendship between Illarion and Tilly. They make it everyone else's problem.

Caden and Valerius are having fun messing about, Esme is busy fixing up her territory after the Faith got exposed for their crimes, Mei is well being Mei building stupid robots, Tez is still living in his poverty stricken land though he must admit it has gotta better over there and as for the rest.. Illarion cares little about since they are quite far away.
He just truly has nothing to do.
Sure he has his own territory to look after, which mostly keeps him busy, and he could spend a night or 2 with a fan if it gets too lonely.. but in the end it doesn't fill that sense of emptiness within him.

Summary
When I first started reading Dragon's Reign, I related to the character of Caden (except that he was super fit and had a good relationship with his sibling). When you relate to a character, you want to project aspects of yourself and your identity onto said character. That's why you see fanarts turning characters different races and genders, even changing their sexuality.
Fan projection leads to fan representation, you see characters who never otherwise would've been allowed to, become all sorts of identities.
I'm not a person of color, but I am transgender. After reading Dragon's Reign, I can recognize places where the story could benefit from having Caden be transgender, so I am rewriting those scenes to include transgender representation.
In my headcanon, Rose is also transgender. This is because of how shunned she is in society for being a swarm-shifter. I like this aspect, and transgender people are also shunned, so for further solidarity, she will be a black transwoman (also black transwomen and black drag queens were the people who started pride so we should honor them by representing them whenever we can).
