Summary
Note: This story can be read on its own, but is written in reference to my story I Only Ever Asked Questions. The events in this story take place before the ones in I Only Ever Asked Questions.
Years had not quite been invented yet -- that would be a feature of the planet called Earth that God was intending to put into orbit around a star called the Sun. But that didn't mean there wasn't a rhythm to the way things ran in Heaven. And once in a timeframe that could one day be called a year, Heaven hosted a Gala: an event where angels could let loose and move about in ways they weren't ordinarily encouraged to do. This year, there was something new -- wine. And two angels had found themselves deep in conversation as they partook in this new creation.
Crawleigh laughed. “You’re doing great.”
Around and around they went.
“What’d you say you do?”
“Quality,” Aziraphale gasped. “Engineering.”
“Nebulae,” said Crawleigh. “Exploding shit."

Summary
There was once a time Aziraphale got drunk off his ass and tried to pray directly to God, Crowley-style, then got extremely embarrassed and absolutely terrified for weeks that he was going to be banished from Heaven for daring to speak out of turn.
He was so wrapped up in this anxiety he accidentally ghosted Crowley the entire time, but Crowley thought it was because of the voicemails.
What voicemails? Well, Aziraphale doesn’t remember those – he was pretty much blackout drunk at that point. Crowley didn’t answer, because he was similarly enjoying a pity party for one and didn’t want to give it away.
Why yes, they were both drinking about each other at the same time.

“Bugger,” Aziraphale said softly, flinching at the sound of his own voice. He’d only been black-out drunk a few times in the millennia spent in corporeal form, and he didn’t have fond memories of any of them. “Crowley?” he rasped, his throat strangely sore, and pushed himself to his feet.
As he did so, an unfamiliar weight shifted in his middle. Aziraphale froze, halfway through standing.
A memory bubbled up to the surface, a bad idea concocted late into the night. His bad idea that had made the demon cackle at its absurdity.
Reluctantly, Aziraphale turned his vision inward.
“Fuck!”

The end of the world had successfully been thwarted, and the two of them had managed to avoid both of their extinctions to top it all off, finally free to do whatever they felt like. Overall, a whopping victory deserving of celebration at a high-ranking restaurant such as the Ritz.
And while humans would normally have to book a table many months in advance to land a meal in that restaurant, there were advantages to not being human.Series

**Note before reading: I think the characterization of Ryan and Shane is decent, but my apologies in advance about Crowley and Aziraphale's, I'm waiting to rewatch until right before the new season comes out, so it's been a minute since I've actually watched the show and thus might be a little inaccurate.

But that means it would perhaps be a bit awkward to have Crowley living there too… Anyway, I remembered that you have a spare room you hardly use. Soo...maybe he could rent that room for a while?”
Despite a very rocky start to their acquaintance, Aziraphale decides to offer his room to the dashing waiter that he already finds himself being reluctantly drawn to. Crowley, on other hand, doesn't have much other choice than to accept, unwanted attraction aside.
Neither is looking for a relationship, not wanting the emotions nor complications it brings with it, but tough luck boys;)
