Oliver is on a mission to win back Elio's affections.
It contains less references than most of the fanfics here, many of which I read with gusto, this is more of an exploration on the characters, primarily Elio. Read it as if there were spotlights following Elio and Oliver, they were my main focus.
This is my first ever fanfic, written because the story resonated a LOT with me, stemming from some personal, unresolved issues that were similar in nature.

This is a mix of self-indulgence and stylistic study, essentially using Aciman's writing style to write an alternate ending to the book. In this version, Elio meets Oliver not in public, but in his home, and the two do the whole pining, dripping with sensuality, bantering with hidden meanings thing that they do so well.

Still no reaction from Elio. But as Oliver decided to walk over to him, the notes began to change into the short sequence that burned itself into his mind and he settled down one of the armchairs behind the piano. He let the familiar tones sink in and, with a smile around his face, thought back to the banter they had caused.
“What no changes this time?” Oliver asked amused, as the notes slowly faded away.
“I thought they drove you mad”, he said in a flat tone. “Anyways, I am neither Liszt, nor Busoni.”
