Summary
A great source of despair draws Nightmare to an abandoned AU. There he finds an unfinished Sans with no name, no companions, no purpose, no world, and a soul. Nightmare gives him the option to get out of his abandoned, empty world. He accepts the offer but refuses to destroy anything or hurt people. Instead he finds another purpose. In return the Bad Sanses give him a home, companions, a life, and a name. They call him Ink.
Or: Before he can destroy his soul and enter the Doodle Sphere, Ink is recruited by Nightmare. He accepts his role as best he can, even if he sometimes feels like he is meant for something more.

Anyway, I decided to train a bit my writing by doing a little fanfic much simpler and shorter than my other project XD
I hope you'll enjoy this little angsty-fluffy dreamtale fanfic! I will also accept suggestions for future chapters in the comments!Nightmare didn't regret killing the villagers.
They were greedy and evil.
They deserved to suffer and die in the most horrible ways.
They always treated him as if he was a disgusting cursed monster when they were the ones acting like one.
He wanted to make them pay for all the pain he had suffered because of them.But ... what about Dream? Happy, naive, little Dream. The light in the darkness, the hope in the sorrow, the sun of the night.
The little brother who always cared about him. The little brother who always tried to make him smile. The little brother who didn't matter what the villagers offered was always back to him every night.
He didn't deserve to suffer.When the guardian of positivity turned stone in front of his eyes, Nightmare snapped back to reality, regret and guilt overwhelming him.
Will he be able to get back his spark of happiness?

Within this realm, Dreamtale exists as an enigma, plucked from another Multiverse entirely. The tragedy of it's Story forced to continue beyond it's Endings, for it forced the concept of Balance into the Multiverse's rules. Now open-ended, the only two Characters wanders throughout the Multiverse as one of it's Outcodes.
Dream broke out of stone to one colorful and curious Inkblot, so much to comprehend for someone so small. But alive nonetheless.
Nightmare woke up freshly dead.

Everyone knows the Star Sanses: they're the Guardians of the Multiverse, and protect it from Nightmare and his minions, who only want to spread chaos and destruction.
They're kind, strong, brave, the good guys!
How can you not love them?You can't. They deserve the world. They're perfect and selfless and precious, and must be protected at any (and I do mean ANY) cost. Not that they couldn't protect themselves, of course! It's just, the Multiverse doesn't give them the appreciation and respect they deserve, not really.
But Nightmare, Error, Horror, Killer, Dust, Cross... they know how much Dream, Ink and Blue are worth.
And they'll keep them safe.

Papyrus was no stranger to strange and disturbing things; after all, there was a mysterious machine in his basement, his brother’s room was practically another dimension, and he didn’t even want to think about the dog shrine he’d once found when he was cleaning beneath the sink. (Just – how???) And that was just the strange and disturbing things that could be found inside his house! Outside of that, there were countless other bizarre people and things that he had seen throughout the Underground.
...So, you might have thought that The Great Papyrus would be so used to encountering unusual and horrifying phenomena by now that he wouldn’t even bat an eye (or eye socket, as the case may be) if he ran into one more strange and disturbing thing! And, well… usually, you would have been correct!
The thing was… The thing was. Usually… usually, the strange and disturbing things he found were not the lifeless body of his brother.
Ink runs out of paint in an AU that is an offshoot of the original Undertale universe. Papyrus is the one to find him, and has to work out what is wrong with this lifeless clone of his brother, and how to nurse him back to health.

It started out as a joke with Killer asking Nightmare who his favourite kid was. The King of Negativity gave the generic parent answer of not having a favourite while Error had no problem in saying his. They had laughed it off, thinking it a joke. It’s not till the Stars make the biggest mistake in their lives that they realise just how serious Error actually was.
