The door shuts. There’s shocked laughter from behind it. The door reopens. A hand reaches out to him, touches the front of his hoodie, presses into the fabric until it meets skin beneath. A hand reaches out and takes him by the shoulder. Wandering gold eyes trace him up and down and up and down and up and—
“I told you not to come,” Dream says disbelievingly. “I told you not to come.”
George laughs, his throat closing up around the sound. “Since when did I listen to you?”

"Meteorologists say that this hurricane might be stronger than usual as the South-East coast leaves a heatwave, rating Hurricane Fleur as a lower category 4 as of now. Though she won't be making landfall for another predicted week, people throughout Florida, Alabama and even Georgia are being told to prepare for the worst. In other news..."
Dream allowed his attention to drift away from the news reporter as she moved on to another news story, popping his back from where he sat on the couch and humming thoughtfully.
"What's this about Fleur?" George asked from the armchair in the corner. Currently, the short brit was staying with Sapnap and him in their house in Florida, easing himself into their living dynamic with extended stays every so often. It was just poor luck that he was stuck with them until the planes started flying again, since no doubt if the hurricane was as bad as they predict - or God forbid, worse - there wouldn't be any flights, or maybe even roads, open until they were in the clear.
Or, DTeam stuck in the house til a hurricane passes + Dream with the flu = Angst w/ fluff and comfort teehee :)

Summary
George sometimes wishes he wasn't an influencer. The pressure that is constantly put on him makes him numb at some points and overly emotional at others. It's gotten to the point that he can barely play games and stream without breaking down.
Yeah he's moving to Florida to live with his best friends in a few weeks, but what's the point? Is there even one?
One night after a particularly difficult time, George discovers a new way to cope. Yeah it's a bit strange, but it helps him feel better. Going little takes away all the stress from his everyday life and provides comfort.
But what happens when he moves in? What will Dream and Sapnap think?
How do you explain that you become a child because being an adult is too difficult?
And it doesn't help that George has some not-so platonic feelings for Dream either. -

George whines, refusing to raise his head despite Dream’s soft murmuring that tickles his left ear. He is content with the soothing circling on his lower back but the hand on his shoulder that gently shakes him is getting more and more annoying. His head spins even from the slight move. He mumbles a tiny "shut up" and reluctantly raises his head to look up at his friend. The drunkenness that clouds his brain is suddenly shaken away by how close they are. He can feel a fire surging from his stomach to his throat. He can feel the hot orange-flavored breath patting on his nose. He can feel the vibration of air drumming in his ear. His eyes widen. He stares at Dream's lips and he suddenly realizes.
"You mean that kind of love, Dream."
He feels incognizant. He never knows.aka: Geroge gets his visa, prepares to leave for USA. He flies to Florida, where he gets drunk and almost kisses Dream.

Dream has been able to read minds since he was a little kid. However, there is a catch- he can only hear the thoughts of people who have a crush on him.
So when Sapnap and George come to Florida, Dream is surprised to hear his best friend's thoughts. Despite his initial shock, Dream finds himself to be thinking of the Brit in a new light.

It was like that moment when you go under water, the sound filing up your ears, drowning everything out. That's how he'd describe it. The hum of everything blurred, feeling like it's just you, the water, and the sky. The water warping the clouds, time slows down, everything still. That's how he would describe himself.
Blurred, warped, drowning, still.
But when you need air, when your lungs are screaming and craving it, your body is aching for this thing, that's when everything crumbles. Body is no longer still, water no longer quiet, ears still full, but with loudness of the world. That's how he'd describe himself. He craves something, and then everything keeping him calm is destroyed. He craves the destruction.
Sometimes everything just gets too still, too calm and he just self destructs. But something shifts him, his universe. A smile. A light. A boy.
He is drowning, and there is a hand to pull him out. His world loud, then someone hands him headphones to drown it out. Headphones connected to a computer, a gray and blue icon on his screen, leading him to a boy who is too perfect for him.
And when things get too perfect, he has this habit.
He destructs.
