Summary
The year is 235 after the Galactic Advent. Civilizations across the Milky Way, united under the Galactic Federation, now struggle against the enigmatic and unrelenting Space Pirate threat. To combat this foe, the Galactic Federal Police keep watchful outposts in every corner of federally-controlled space. On the savage world known as SR-388, a biologic research team has just discovered something which should have been left forgotten beneath the surface.
This is a retelling of the Metroid story with a focus on worldbuilding and character development. It is also an experiment, being my first narrative work. Please let me know what you think-- not just about the story, but about the writing style, pacing, characterization, etc. I aspire to write original fiction, so your criticism at this point will be immeasurably helpful and greatly appreciated.Series

Summary

Summary
A grand reinvisioning of the Metroid universe focused around the lives of Samus and (my take on) Sylux from the earliest days to every major chapter of their lives as they experience and shape the greatest time of crisis in an aeon. Whether it's grand missions or simple, quiet moments of day to day life, the story is fundamentally about what is like to grow up as a youth in the far future as the status quo crumbles away and far more uncertain and dangerous times await, and what it is like to be born human but raised by alien beings who are all but myth to most and to bear the burden of great expectations.

Undergoing fairly extensive rewrites to fix some internal continuity errors. The overall plot won't change though.

Summary
The Great Enemy has been defeated. After five thousand long years, the Chozo are ready to break their self-imposed exile, to once again roam the stars like they did in days long forgotten. Though much diminished and weighed down with grief, they look towards the future with hope.
The year is 2154, 2 years after humanity activated the Charon relay. The Prothean ruins on Mars are the only known evidence of alien life. Humanity is making its first faltering steps into the galaxy. In the Euler System, out where the starlight fades and the space is cold and empty, a long dormant probe activates.

MAJOR METROID DREAD SPOILERS
AU; when offered to transfer his Mawkin DNA to some insignificant creature to turn and raise it into a Chozo warrior Raven Beak cannot help but be intrigued by this prospect. On top of that he is expected to be the child's master (for he is, clearly, the greatest Mawkin to ever exist and none shall ever top him) in the arts of a Mawkin warrior. He never was one to raise a pupil, for none could ever compete with him or his kin.
But he makes an exception.
Chronicles Raven Beak teaching (for better or worse) a young Samus Aran into the warrior she is destined to become.
