Summary
Six months since the battle with HADES, Aloy and Neoma have been searching for the backup of GAIA in order to fix the terraforming system. In that short span of time, a Blight has begun to spread with the help of strange storms that seem to carry it. It kills everything and the machines are still changing despite HADES being gone, becoming more dangerous. In pursuit of the backup, Aloy and Neoma decide to travel to the Forbidden West, where they both learn to trust other people and how to obtain what they need in order to save the world from itself.
It's not all bad on their travels, as Aloy and Neoma learn what it is to be partners together. As they travel to the Forbidden West, things are discovered, and they are tested to the extreme on both their relationship and their allies.
Ride with them as they try to find the backup, fix the world, learn how to trust others and obtain allies, all the while their relationship grows into something more than they ever thought. It's time to go into the Forbidden West, the untamed wilderness of both machines and people.

Rost does not take in the squalling, flame-haired outcast baby. Nobody does, not of those who are allowed. Lansra smirks at Teersa as a team of Braves take her out to the wilds.
They leave the baby there, assured that the elements or machines will get her before any outcast has a change of heart. They are too cowardly to put an end to her themselves, assured by their leaders and each other that this is the more humane way to get rid of filth.
They're half-right. What happens to her really is better than anything they could've ever given her.
