By all appearances, Sherlock Holmes is an isolated phenomenon with no history to speak of. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

    The complete AU.

I've also put together a Designation: H playlist that serves as a bit of a soundtrack for the series, particularly following Holmes's story.

If you're a fan of Jeeves and Wooster, I encourage you to start with The Mysterious Mr. Jeeves, and come back here when you're ready for the answers.

If anyone else wants to create anything in this universe or inspired by it (fic, art, podfic, translation, etc...) you are hereby permitted and encouraged, and I'd love to see the results!

However, I do not consent to my work being monetized or used with AI in any capacity.

Based off of a wonderful little post on tumblr by @lady-of-the-spirit, Bouc shows up during A Haunting in Venice and has a long awaited reunion with Poirot. You can read this as a ship or plutonic, but there are touchy touchy feels so be prepared.

Despite the fact that it would've been so much fun to have Bouc floating around actually being a ghost- walking through walls, turning vaguely translucent in the moonlight, showing off the bullet hole in his neck- I couldn't handle the angst of him actually being dead, so I made a little fix-it-fic for us sappy babies.

I'm also totally not opposed to making more content about these two??? Idk their dynamic is so wonderful, I'd love to just run with it.

    Summary

If a man was to feel anything as irrational as love (love, that was to say, of a person or something else suspect, not king and country which was only proper), then that man could express that love in two ways.

He could undertake acts of forthright and dashing heroism.

He could ask the object of his affections for her hand in marriage.

So much Arthur Hastings had learned, by osmosis as much as by explicit conversation, during his years at the finest schools and universities in the country.

"I prefer to think on these things I see," Poirot said. "I do not intend to speak on them until it is time to pass judgement."
"Your own judgement, or that of the law?"

Holmes shifted to light a cigarette; Poirot could just see his face, in the milky light of the coming dawn.
"Are they not the same thing?"

Poirot and his associates write reviews, the kind one might post on Expedia or TripAdvisor, for the different hotels and inns they have stayed at over the years. And it's clear that one person's four-star paradise is another person's miserable ordeal.

After The Affair at the Victory Ball, Poirot rather craved a holiday. I couldn't blame the man. As much as he enjoyed the smaller spotlight of a denouement, being on the radio, especially with the rather rude and xenophobic responses he'd seen after, had been wider attention than Poirot preferred.
