“We didn’t do it.” The Hungarian repeated while he fiddled with the rope, his previous shouting mellowed into an almost pitiful whisper. Vitale was close enough for the younger man to headbutt him if he wanted to, or knee him in the face as soon as he could move his leg again, although it wouldn’t do his situation any good. “We’re not killers.”

He had to admit their suspect had a striking gaze, clear green like the Venetian canals on their better days. Yet the flowing waters were deeper than they had ever been when in another’s eyes.

The mystery begins on the first of November.
Mais, non; Poirot must not leap to conclusions. The mystery is first noticed on the first of November, and it is very likely that it began before this time.

There are some things that Poirot and Hastings cannot have.

Hastings is wonderfully self-sacrificing, sometimes. Poirot is half-tempted to pinch some sense into him.

    Summary

“It’s really entirely deserted,” I added. “Even in daylight hours, we didn’t pass a single soul along the way.”

Challenger didn't answer for a moment. He was sizing up the path down, I guessed, although I somehow had the impression that he had not drawn his attention away from me. “Sounds dangerous,” he replied eventually.

“Oh, absolutely,” I agreed. “It’s a funny thing, though, isn't it? After a night like this, I find that one hardly feels afraid of anything.”

I again had the sense that Challenger was looking at me intently, as if I had said something quite strange. But naturally a man like him would grasp my meaning. He was, after all, a sailor; he could be no stranger to the wave of fearlessness, of reckless abandon, that sometimes comes in the wake of a close brush with death.

“Better lead the way, then,” Challenger said, giving a wry grin, and opened the gate to gesture me through.

Shared drinks after fireworks. A brief, inadvisable tryst. Hastings gets his heart broken, and Poirot is there to help him pick up the pieces.

A missing chapter from Peril At End House, and an exploration of the unspoken loyalties and intimacies of the Poirot/Hastings relationship.

    Summary

A crossover series set in Genteel Interbellum England, where Bertie Wooster, Jeeves, Poirot, and Hastings keep stumbling into romantic misunderstandings, criminal entanglements, and inconvenient feelings while growing into two partnerships.

Some of the fics are casefics, some are not, but they are all romantic comedy mixed with feelings and some canon divergencies here and there.

    They're loosely in chronological order.

⚠️ You don't need to worry about any series-wide cliffhangers.

⚠️ I've marked the series complete but that doesn't mean I won't write more for it, it's just there's a very nice little Bertie/Jeeves arc that develops throughout it.

⚠️ I strongly recommend starting with Fateful Soiree at Brinkley Court because that's like, the starting point of this whole series and the rest of it might not make much sense if you don't read that one. In general, newer stories contain spoilers or carry over character development from the older ones.

“Monsieur,” the voice said once more, sounding aggrieved.
Blast it. Hercule turned sharply about, seeking out the fool who was fouling this moment, who was cutting short the only peace he had found in these last, bitter weeks.
    And there—
    And there—
Hercule was on his feet and stumbling forward, his hands out and reaching toward—
“Bouc,” he said, the word, like a prayer, stumbling out past his numb lips. “Bouc!”

Or, the reports of Bouc's death were greatly exaggerated. Hercule takes it well.

Everyone knew Hector Macqueen was working for Samuel Ratchett. A select few knew he was working for Bruno Cassetti.

Only Hector knew what working for Cassetti meant.

What you get when two angst-obsessed teenagers notice the interesting behaviors in the play and certain movie adaptations of Hector Macqueen, leading to them theorizing why such a calm and collected man was turned into an anxious mess.

Seriously though, this work covers really intense topics. While we are not extremely graphic, it is more than enough to warrent several trigger warnings. Read at your own risk and mind the tags.

It's only a sickfic by the technical definition of the term. Mostly, it's Poirot being physically incapable of keeping his opinions to himself and making it everyone else's problem.
