As the Guide of Time, Sheik followed the instructions of the goddesses and Impa as they were given, for he would much rather be spared Din's Wrath in consequence of meddling with the cryptic plans of the Golden Goddesses. But after Sheik finds Link bleeding out in the entrance of Kakariko Village, he is left with no choice but to help the Hero of Time recover from a fatal attack.
Unknown to him, one tiny ripple with the pillars of fate can change the entire outcome of a journey.
Both good and bad.
Title is from Hometown by Twenty One Pilots.

Summary
It's easier than it should be to take the constant, quiet presence of the Hero of Time for granted. Zelda decides she won't stand for that anymore, and finds a way to repay the devotion another version of her slighted in the future-past.
As one might have guessed, this winds up looking much like how she slighted him in the first place. But this time, Link doesn't mind... and Zelda gets something out of it, too.

Summary
If he breathed too deeply, he'd choke on the harsh perfumes and fragrant shampoos that permeated his flimsy cotton comforts. Beyond that, he'd discerned the harsh odors of brandished iron and demoralized bodies – a far cry from the familiar forests that should've been his next destination upon leaving Clock Town once and for all.
Link felt so cheated.
Or: The Hero of Time enters the War of Eras and has to come to terms with another adventure while proving his capabilities all over again. For Captain Link, it's hard not to see him for the child he is, and they both silently decide that they must help one another.

Era of Time. Battle of the Burning Plains. Assault on Ganon's Castle.
After Princess Zelda was captured by Ganondorf's Phantom Puppet from the Allied Forces War Camp, a rescue operation is mounted. As the United Army launches their assault on what was once Castle Town, with the Hero of Time in front and his Triforce of Courage shining brightly to inspire them, a solidary figure splits off.
None other than The Mercenary of The Realms, Dynamo Decebal Georgian, who takes it upon himself to infiltrate Ganon's Castle and locate Princess Zelda before it is too late.
