Summary

Summary
Hanschen looks at him with a concerned visage as if something suddenly clicked within his mind.
"Ernst, is everything alright?" he asks the taller classmate, and Ernst tries to shrug it off as if he doesn't care.
"It is, yes," he subdues a bit too rapidly to be truthful. "Just forget I said anything."
He walks ahead of Hanschen, stopped when Hanschen gently grabs onto his arm. He spins around to face Hanschen, who's plump lips are slightly parted. If Ernst wasn't so mournful, he might've collapsed onto the weathered gravel right then and there.
"Ernst, wait. Tell me."

He shakes his head, fingers getting lost in the soft blonde curls. “The world can become so much when it is loud, there are so many sounds that bring pain to my ears.” His voice is quiet, barely musing in his soft tone. His eyes glance up away from his face, his attention drawn by the colors of the setting sun and Hanschens mother distantly calling for her children. “You must go.” He signs sadness in the slowness of his hands. Hans brushes his fingers across ernsts and presses his palm against his chest.

Summary
It’s Hanschen and Ernst’s first big date this weekend, and Hanschen has legendary plans. A museum party, a fancy dinner, a night in a hotel room… Ernst isn’t sure he’s ready for all this attention, especially since he can’t afford to reciprocate. Meanwhile, Wendla and Ilse were looking forward to a great concert, but a huge snowstorm stops their plans. Melchior and Moritz wanted to do something, but they just end up back in Melchior’s bedroom. Thea, grounded after an outburst at dinner, sneaks out to Martha’s house. There’s a lot up in the air, but one thing’s for certain: this weekend is going to be one for the history books.
