In some sick, twisted version of Murphy’s Law, nothing good ever happened when it rained because Mustang was useless in the rain. It was like the universe was conspiring against him to make his life even harder.
He was on high alert for most of the day because of it. Today would be the day some terrorist organization decided to make their move. Today would be the day some foreign army would invade. Today would be the day where everyone needed him to do something, and he’d be completely useless because it was raining out.

At age eighteen, if you still do not have your soulmate's words, you are part of a sliver of the world so small that some people do not realize your existence is even possible, and the likelihood you will ever receive a soulmark is almost nonexistent.
