Ironic that six centuries had passed without Hob knowing anything about his mysterious stranger, and now suddenly he seemed to run into someone who knew Dream every time he walked down the street. Infuriating, more like. At least he was getting some entertainment out of it.

Set after The Wake, this series explores what follows the end of Dream. Morpheus is gone, yet something of him remains. Everything will be clarified in the individual oneshots in this series, here I do not deny Morpheus's departure, but will rationalize it to keep Morpheus stays.
With themes of memory, love, and rebirth, the story follows their quiet, lingering presence in a world that believes Dream has truly died. But not all endings are final. May this be a quiet place to explore their story, their bond, and all the moments that never made it into the stars.
The continuation of the storyline is primarily based on the TV show, most are Healing Morpheus but still has Morpheus X OC. You've been warned.

This was… not exactly how Hob had planned it to go...
What was supposed to happen was that a thrown cup of hot tea and a few well-placed punches would take down Constantine’s duo of ruffians and then they’d only have the lovely Lady herself to deal with. Two immortals against one probably-human… that was good odds. And it absolutely would have worked… if those were the only goons Lady Johanna had decided to bring with her. (They weren’t.) Oh, and if they hadn’t had some magic fucking bullets. (They did.)
So instead now Hob had his hands bound at the small of his back, one shoulder wrenched out of place, the other with a crossbow bolt in it, shards of the saucer from his teacup lodged in his thigh, a slash across his upper and lower lip, clothes completely ruined, the cravat used to gag him soaked through with his own blood, someone else's blood matting his hair and dripping into one eye… all that and yet he was looking up into his Stranger’s smug ass fucking little grin.
What if 1789 went just a little differently?

Hob secretly admitted that the stranger’s appearance was appealing, in a somewhat dangerous way. It wasn’t because the dark-haired man was exceptionally handsome – Hob would argue that he was good-looking too and even more approachable so ladies would prefer him over the stranger, to be honest – but there was something alluring about Dark-and-Mysterious that made him such a sight to behold, however, it simultaneously warned people that they should only do it from afar.
A retelling of their once-in-a-century meetings, close to Hob’s perspective.
