    The first thing Jesse smells is the acrid scent of smoke and the sharp tang of gunpowder clinging to his sweaty skin, remnants of the explosion still lingering in the air.

    The first thing Jesse tastes is the metallic iron of his own blood on his cracked lips. He runs his tongue over them, wincing both at the bitterness and the sting of his saliva against the torn skin. The flavor lingers in the back of his throat and he nearly gags on it.

    The first thing Jesse feels is the ground trembling with the weight of the destroyed storm’s remains as they fall to the ground. The withered amalgamation of blocks that once formed its body crash down, crushing the damp grass beneath.

    The first thing Jesse hears is an insistent, ear-piercing ringing, which gradually fades into a dull throbbing pain in the back of his skull. The second thing Jesse hears is… nothing.

    Jesse sighed, having had this conversation several times before. “Lukas, the only one that blames you is yourself,” he smiled. “And you have nothing to worry about! My family just wants to meet you, no biggie!” He elbowed his boyfriend lightly. “Far from the scariest thing we’ve done.”

    Lukas laughed. “I guess not, brave hero.” he said in response. Though, he couldn’t shake the anxious feeling. Sure, he had been through all kinds of scary and dangerous things, but this was a different kind of scary. He loved Jesse, and he always kind of knew he would be safe with him around. But here? If he messed up, Jesse’s family could hate him forever. Jesse could hate him forever! He didn’t know how he could deal with that.

    Despite his worries, he took a deep breath as he and Jesse walked into the house- a decently large wooden house. Not quite mansion level, but bigger than average. It was really more like a cabin, especially due to its placement in the woods.

    Lukas never liked the cold or getting wet, he used to get teased by the other Ocelot's for it, saying it was 'stereotypical' of him.
    He couldn't stand the cold as his face would turn red as the temperature burned at his skin. Getting wet was worse since it messed up his hair that he spent a perfectly normal amount of time on and he hated the way water made his clothes stick to his skin, uncomfortably chafing it.
    So when Lukas and his friends next portal to explore included both of these things, let's just say he wasn't exactly all that thrilled.
    His bad luck on the other hand was overjoyed.
