A piece I wrote for the 2024 HxH Big Bang!
“I’ve come up with something for my end of the wager,” said the Gungi Champion, smiling at the King. “If I win, how about I take you on a date? It will be my treat.”
Komugi explains there is a fancy bar and restaurant in downtown East Gorteau. She has never been, but she knows there will be live jazz and candlelit dinner. Perhaps the King might know something or two about music and table manners, and nothing about dates. Perhaps Komugi could learn to like the taste of wine, and ignore how she feels so out of place. Perhaps the Royal Guard might follow His Majesty and survey the scene in lavish disguise. Perhaps hijinks ensue.
Komugi won the game, and the King had no choice but to uphold his end of the bargain. Perhaps he had hoped he would lose.- Language:

Summary
When the Chimera Ant invasion comes to an abrupt and unceremonious end with the King's decision to choose his own path, the Hunter Association takes it upon themselves to help the world return to normal. Everyone involved in the fight starts to move on while the world heals. Kite is trying his best to move on, too- to pick up the pieces of his former self that will let him feel normal and human again.
It's just that he can't shake the disturbing visions and shameful new desires that plague him, making him sick with longing for the very monster responsible for his suffering.

After waking up in the hospital, when Kite learns that part of the reason he's still alive is that the one who killed him brought his near zombified body back to life, Kite seeks to reunite with the now imprisoned Neferpitou to see them just once more. After Kite sees Pitou however, he seeks to free them to make amends and see who they were in their former life.

Gon has always loved how flowers just... are. The meanings, the beauty, the everything. He makes bouquets for Mito, for the people who know his art. He makes them for Killua, except they have more meaning than he knows and it's a form of confession that he's unaware of.
or, how Gon and his flowers capture Killua's heart and the consequences of the meanings and how Killua Zoldyck can't seem to fathom the fact that Gon actually likes him.

Summary
Komugi's family was devoured by demons, while Meruem had been the demon to slaughter his. She was scorned and treated as less than human; he walked over humans as a benevolent king. Sword fighting was a precious and well honed skill of hers, while Meruem's weapon was nothing less than his own two hands. He was to conquer the world and defeat any who stood in his way, believing his path was predestined by fate itself.
Or, so he thought.
As the time neared for his soldiers to lay waste of the human Demon Hunters army, he would come to face his greatest opponent yet.
The enemy; a blind, ignoble, messy haired, swordsman that seemed completely unaware of her disgusting booger dripping nose. Komugi was, undoubtedly, fates way of stopping Meruem in his tracks, as a foe and advisory. As a challenger in battle, but also in ideals.
Meruem had already been changed from man to monster, but Komugi began to reawaken parts of himself he had lost a long time ago. Will her resolve breathe more than new light into the barren heart of this monster? Or will his reign be forever marked by death and bloodshed?
