Summary
A thousand years ago, a Calamity wrecked the galaxy, brought on by dangerous plague-carrying monsters. The Cybertronian race was scattered across the galaxy, searching for a home and a purpose in the wake of it. In the Nebulon System, Cryotek invented an answer, and gathered others in a means of spreading his message.
But for Nyx and Cheetor, they're uncertain if that message is what they want. They take a chance, and escape his home to find their own home and purpose. In doing so, they set off on a great journey that may reveal the answers their people have been searching for, as well as determine the fate of the galaxy.

That received an aggravated huff from the saurian. Way to antagonize the enemy again, Nyx. “I spared you from an undignified death at Tarantulas’ servos, did I not?”
Well. She couldn’t argue with that fact, gruesomely as the Predacon had put it.
“Now hold on, normally I’m a reasonable bot, but after the day I’ve had I think I have a right to be a little skeptical. You’re a Pred. What’s the catch?”
Another frustrated huff. She was testing her luck. “There is no catch, Maximal. Other than that your chances of deactivating out here are significantly higher should I rescind my offer.”
Nyx narrowed her optics.
“Okay.”

A thousand years ago, the galaxy was ravaged by monsters known as Phantoms. They brought with them death and disease, nearly destroying everything in their wake. After this calamity, the planet known as Cybertron disappeared, scattering its children throughout the cosmos. Its whereabouts have since become a mystery, seemingly tied together with the lingering Phantom threat.
The Axalon's expedition has gotten off to a rocky start, as previous revelations have shaken Nyx's relationship with Cheetor. As the crew searches for answers to the Cybertron mystery, Nyx starts wondering about her place among them, and the things she might want to do. And as they explore, their enemies are intent on tracking them down.

Summary

This tale is about Cheetor and Nyx, two runaway Cybertronians trying to avoid the mechs of a group called Cryotek's House. Their travels bring them to a dishonored swordsmech, a crew of explorers, and a strange relic that may hold the key to their people's hidden past.
