Except for Hannibal's food, which tastes like heaven and for a time, quenches his hunger. Something draws closer and he cannot escape the web he's entangled in- even monsters get lonely and when they find their perfect other they never let them go.

The thing is, Hannibal doesn't have a soulmark; so of course the good doctor just has to hunt whoever has Will's. After a lot of misunderstanding, (Will thinks Alana and Hannibal are going out and Hannibal thinks he is doesn't have a soulmate) Hannibal finds out Will is actually mute and on his wrist is Hannibal's very specific order. :3

The scream is surrounding him, deafening him, and scrambling his brain.
“STOOOOOP!”
The loudest, the most frenzied, the most animalistic, the most painful. His head hurts. He drops to his knees, gripping his head in pain.

"Good morning William", he says pleasantly to a boy seated on a park bench.
The child, 10 or 11, looks up from the comic he is reading.
For Hannibal, the boy's physical appearance is mere guesswork; he has never actually laid eyes on the boy outside of his own mindscape. The boy, William, appears as Hannibal imagines Will Graham would have looked as a child; coltish limbs, tousled brown curls, and clear blue eyes rimmed with sweeping lashes.
Yet this boy exists, both here and in the real world. His life, and the life of his mother, having been serendipitously uncovered by Hannibal, more than a year ago. At the time of his discovery, Hannibal had placed the boy, here, in his mind garden; the mother was summarily dismissed.Thus begins the chess game Hannibal plans to win in order to bring Will Graham back into his life.
