    “This… this would qualify as a mental breakdown, right?” Triton asked, frowning over his shoulder to where Percy was still fuming in the corner. The lady at the counter curiously glanced over before lifting a questioning brow. “My brother – half-brother, technically, I have much better breeding – decided to run away from home to where our father can’t reach him and now he won’t leave. And now I can’t leave unless he leaves,” Triton continued. Percy opened his mouth to object that wasn’t what happened at all, but the tyrant only waved a hand to silence him. “He’s seen war or whatever, so if you could maybe just drug him then I’ll throw him into a suitcase and we can be out of here by the Summer Solstice!”

    Silence. Finally, the woman cleared her throat and turned to Percy.

    “I’m guessing he’s the one you want checked into the mental hospital?” She asked. Triton gasped as Percy punched the air in victory.

    “Aha!”

    Take a plunge into a (def never been done before /s) PJO High School AU, with one of my original characters as the main character!** This fic will take you through a no-powers representation of Camp Half-Blood as an American secondary boarding school-type thing with all of our favorite Greek campers. I imagine a true high school AU to be more realistic--Percy and Annabeth aren't cool and popular, cliques of people from the same cabin aren't a thing, and everything doesn't revolve around a dance or sports game. You'll learn more about this world as you go, but before you dive in, just know that references/spoilers for HoO and ToA are going to be included.

    In the first PJO book Annabeth says "Some campers only stay the summer. If you're a child of Aphrodite or Demeter, you're probably not a real powerful force. The monsters might ignore you, so you can get by with a few months of summer training and live in the mortal world the rest of the year,"
    Percy's internal dialogue a chapter or two later was "Demeter's kids had the edge with nature skills and outdoor stuff, but they weren't very aggressive."
    This could-be-canon-compliant fic takes those opinions and tears them apart. Not only is Katie Gardner secretly feral (hence the fucking battle axe), she's also a strong Demi-god. Meg McCaffrey was not the first strong daughter of Demeter; Persephone first paved the way for her sisters to rise up and break the stereotype and Katie is not about to let her down.
    Travel with her as she blossoms into a young lady, grows up, and makes something for herself. All while retaining that "feral changeling child raised in the woods vibe" mostly

    I just really love Katie Gardner and there's not much canon anything about her, so I wanted to make something that really showcased all the potential this character has.
