Her pupils dilated as Erik stalked back towards her helpless fiancé with a thick, heavy rope tied into a tight noose. She stood frozen on the shore, knowing the train of the wedding gown would become too waterlogged and cumbersome should she wade in. Then she would be unable to help her poor Raoul escape. It had nothing to do with wanting to hear the delicious, suffocated sounds he would make.
Christine finds herself a little too fascinated by the events of the lair.

“Everyone dies alone.” Is the common saying, what people often forget is that everyone lives alone too. Their paths cross another’s for a moment and then they split off, each individual on their own timeline.
So when a story opens up with the phrase “ the world crumbled” one might forget to ask a crucial question, “who’s world did it belong to?”-

The man previously known as the Opera Ghost was offered an opportunity to change his way of life forever. Despite being given everything he ever wanted, he was discontent as this new life did not have Christine. His Angel of Music had left him for a better life with the Vicomte and while he married another for the sake of managing his own Opera House. His benefactors the Del Valderas had no idea of his previous life as the Opera Ghost offered him the opportunity to compose music and manage his own Opera House. To secure such sponsorship, Erik wed his benefactor's daughter, Constanza Del Valderas, who was nothing like Christine at all but had supported him in every endeavor he pursued. As years passed on, Erik must come to terms that sacrifice and duty are often intertwined with affection and love and what one loves and wants mostly not what a person needs. If only he had done so sooner before he is faced with the consequences of his own actions to which he will regret for the rest of his miserable life.

Interrupting the silence I sing to my father who sees me from heaven, to my mother and sister for seeing me today in my great radiance of the rising sun.
And above all, I thank my angel of music.
I hear footsteps approaching, a cold, shadowy aura of presence that could scare the residents of the Opera, I smile even though I don't open my eyes, I know who it is; my heart of fire ignites at his presence, that's how strong this feeling is.
So strong is this love for him and his for me.
