Will wandered the shore of the beach for hours, searching for any hint of life, of Hannibal, but the ocean waves were the only beings polite enough to return his desperate cries. He ends up making his way to the nearest hospital alone after an unsuccessful search for Hannibal.
Hannibal's mortal like the rest of us, but Will knows that he wouldn't let himself die without some theatrics.

Post-fall, Will wants to know if Hannibal touched more than just his face during those ‘therapy’ sessions in Hannibal’s office when Will was sick, drugged and vulnerable. He finds himself more turned on by the idea than he expected.
“I would never violate a patient in my care, Will,” he says, looking directly at Will so he’s forced to make eye contact.
Remembering poor Franklyn, Will can’t help but internally snort at Hannibal’s definition of ‘care’, never mind his clearly shaky grasp on what might constitute a ‘violation’. But Hannibal has spoken with such conviction that it’s now Will’s turn to divine Hannibal’s motives.

They've been in their own orbits since arriving in the coast town but as the holiday festivties begin on the island it gives them a chance to spend time together and Will has the opportunity to confront Hannibal once and for all.
