All that had come before had been erased, smeared from existence until he was a child again. For the briefest moment, he’d felt the most euphoric joy before he had realized that he was small and helpless, choking on a thing that he could not bear nor let go.
Head trauma, their doctor told him. You may have difficulty processing some things, remembering, holding on to short term memory…With time, these effects should fade… For the most part, he’d been correct. Hannibal’s memories returned. His motor skills and mental acuity rebounded. Everything healed except for the dreams.

All Hannibal’s life, the assumption has been that he would take control in sexual situations, that he would be the one heaving above his lover, the one giving pleasure and administering care. Never has it been an option to indulge his true, deep desire: to lie back and let his lover lavish their attentions on him without him having to lift a finger. To let the complexities of his mind drift away for a while, lie awash only in unadulterated bliss.
Bliss that Will and only Will would bring about.
