“Do you know what time it is?” Lu Guang’s tone is maddeningly calm and casual with a sharp edge to it: dangerous.
Silence.
The white-haired man closes the book in his hand with a soft thud, the sound absolute; then rises from the couch to walk towards the drunk man. His strides are slow and deliberate; as if giving the dark- haired man some time to formulate the words for his reason.
“It’s 2:55 in the morning.” The shorter man lightly breathes out once he gets close enough, only a feet apart as he stares up at the ravenette. Lu Guang inhales the air to keep his composure in check only for it to violently invade his nostrils with the stench of alcohol and something else he loathes to name. Voice a lowly whisper as if speaking of a sin,
“Where have you been?”
Or; Cheng Xiaoshi collapses in ways Lu Guang never accounted for in his life of many timelines. He’s desperate to help and make things right but how do you fix someone who’s breaking themselves right before you? And you feel incapacitated to do anything.
Don’t try fixing. Break them yourself.

Why he can't save Cheng Xiaoshi no matter what he does, how many times he goes back in past, why Cheng Xiaoshi is doing this all. Why Cheng Xiaoshi dies no matter what he does to prevent it. To the point that when in one cycle, he thought he was successful, and Cheng Xiaoshi was alive further than he ever had, he ended up killing himself

__Soo...I thought of this during one sleepless night of mine after rewatching link click and I've tried to keep it closest to the canon details (the death part is from link click mv XETROVerthink 0:17 at the top right corner where CXS's legs ain't touching the ground) and the ff part is what I think the future can be.
