“Do you know what time it is?” Lu Guang’s tone is maddeningly calm and casual with a sharp edge to it: dangerous.
Silence.
The white-haired man closes the book in his hand with a soft thud, the sound absolute; then rises from the couch to walk towards the drunk man. His strides are slow and deliberate; as if giving the dark- haired man some time to formulate the words for his reason.
“It’s 2:55 in the morning.” The shorter man lightly breathes out once he gets close enough, only a feet apart as he stares up at the ravenette. Lu Guang inhales the air to keep his composure in check only for it to violently invade his nostrils with the stench of alcohol and something else he loathes to name. Voice a lowly whisper as if speaking of a sin,
“Where have you been?”
Or; Cheng Xiaoshi collapses in ways Lu Guang never accounted for in his life of many timelines. He’s desperate to help and make things right but how do you fix someone who’s breaking themselves right before you? And you feel incapacitated to do anything.
