    A cacophony of groans came from the children of gracefield as they roused to the waking world.
    It was 6 o’clock sharp, same time as every morning, “Emma! I can’t tie my shoes!” Someone cried “Emma!” Another yelled.
    Emma, she was one of the eldest kids at gracefield, and by far the most cheerful. All the children were flocking to her, as they usually did, “ok-ok, calm down” Emma laughed awkwardly desperately trying to help them.
    “You two, stop crowding her!” Gilda snapped finishing the last button on her shirt. Pure white, reflecting with stains if they ever got dirt or blood on them. all the exact same, uniform, white button up shirt, pants for boys, winter and sleep, Boots that reach around the shin area and an off-white cardigan, you don’t have to wear that one though.

    When they escaped the nightmare that was their childhood home, Emma lost sight of Ray at some point in their time in the forest. Though it seemed a certainty he was dead, Emma remained stubbornly certain that she would know if he'd died.
    Eventually responsibility for these children now in her care won out over her pressing need to search, and so it was tabled for a long while.
    Meanwhile, Ray adopts the moniker of L in this strange world he's woken up in. The Kira investigation rolls around and he meets one Light Yagami, and distraction presents itself in a way it never has before even in a career such as the one he's secured for himself.
    But what kind of wrench does it throw into said investigation when a ghost from his past he thought long buried comes boldly knocking right on the door of their base?
