Y/n is the first full human to be a part of the Crystal Gems. She moved in with her cousin Vidalia at the age of 13, meeting Greg and Rose the day she arrived. Having convinced Rose to train her and eventually let her join, she's been a part of the team every since. After losing Rose, Y/n promised to help take care of Steven and to keep Earth safe in honor of Rose. Adventure after adventure, Y/n starts to find it hard to keep up after Steven is finally old enough to tag along. Once Homeworld gems and even The Diamonds begin to step into the picture, Y/n starts to doubt how much she could have ever been ready for this.

Summary
Jasper has become a member of the Crystal Gems, but old habits die hard and when she and Lapis are confronted with the temptation of being together again Malachite resurfaces. The unhealthy fusion finds a way to make her existence permanent even after the two unfuse, and Lapis and Jasper are left with a Gemling on the way and the ultimatum: Find a way to be together without drawing out the worst qualities of the original and unstable Malachite or don't be together at all.

He frowned deeply at her, looking at his pink shield as he watched the broken gem before him sob so terribly. It felt like his heart broke in two as he kneeled there with guilt and sorrow for her. None of this was meant to happen.
“I-I j-just… I just w-want to be your friend…”
“Spinel…” He slowly brought her closer, giving her an understanding look. “I… I want to be your-”
The ground rumbled and cut him off, flinging both Spinel and him apart as they fell to the pink crystal floor.
“Spinel!?”
“Steven!”
Steven screamed, shooting up from his bed as the nightmare ended.
