Summary
The worst part was that dream didn’t even fucking notice. None of his friends did, no one asked if he was okay or why he wasn’t talking to any of them. But he lived with dream, he missed out on meals that he was meant to eat with dream. But he never said anything about his changed behavior or expressed any concern for his younger friend. He needed to move out, he couldn’t take it if when George is here they forgot about him. If they did things and continued with life while he wasted away in depression and his fucked up feelings. If he didn’t have a crush on dream he’d be fine, he can’t blame dream for not noticing his pain if it’s really his fault. Because it is his fault. He was gross and he was sure that if dream knew about Sapnaps harbored feelings he would throw him out the door on his face and truly forget he ever existed.
Sapnap has feelings for his best friend turned roommate, and when said best friend and their other best friend, George, start talking without Sapnap? well, he falls into a pit of depression and self hate while the man he loves is actively ignoring him to be with George, leaving Sapnap to feel left out. all the while, dream and George both like the raven head and have a plan.

While they're both trying to navigate this soulmate business. Feelings that have been building towards the surface threaten to tear down the fragile reality they've built around each other.
Short summary
Sapnap and Dream are dealing with a combination of childhood abuse, soulmate fatigue, and the fact they might be falling in love with each other. Also George and Bad are in pain over their idiotic friends. But they're trying their best.

There was a time when he didn’t have to dig deep in his closet with boxes that he had not unpacked since he moved in to get a sweater of his, he could just simply walk over to their shared dresser and pick one out,suddenly being engulfed in the scent of his lover.
And not to mention the voice in his head that yelled at him like a devil on his shoulder whenever he did something like this–it was creepy.
Anyone would see Sapnap keeping the scent Karl always loved around, still using the same shampoo he always did, and still, after two years of being apart–still wearing the sweaters that he’d given to Sapnap.
It was sad, pitiful, and laughable.
But he couldn’t deny how happy it made him, the bittersweet taste of nostalgia.
