Summary
Makkari looked out onto the burning remains of buildings and bodies scattered on the streets. They’d just walk away from it all. Like from everything else, always, no trace behind the great Eternals. Just death and suffering. It made her sick, it made her feel dirty, the kind of filth covering her hands that couldn’t be washed off, mixed with the blood of all the victims. She swallowed hard and out of the corner of her eyes, she noticed him speak again.
“I’ll make it even one day” He dragged out slowly “I’ll take over the minds of every human on the planet… And there will be no more pain, no more suffering, no more violence, nor greed. And no more beings like us that bring only destruction wherever they go” he said, a warning.
Makkari frowned, her body tensing, a sign of danger. She turned more to the man, leveling him with a glare “You can’t do that” she signed and he finally looked at her, startled “And why is that?”
