Summary
John liked it when the Athosians had harvest festivals that had ritual chanting, something called 'throat singing' that kind of creeped him out, and an assortment of instruments that sounded like giant lutes. And then the Marines had introduced the Athosians to the wonders of a karaoke machine - complete with Athosian-translated lyrics - and it had somehow devolved from there, growing further and further with each festival.
Earlier in the evening, when the young ones were about, and before most Stargate leadership had headed back to Atlantis, the traditional music and then 'appropriate use' of the karaoke machine filled the evening's festivities. And then, as darkness fell and the alcohol flowed, somehow karaoke had turned into 'Truth or karaoke', and then further delved into 'Truth or strip-karaoke'.

The fact that it was Stackhouse didn't really surprise John. But the fact that it'd just happened after the stargate connected to M7G-677, the planet with all the kids, was enough to raise an eyebrow. Every Marine had instantly gone on alert, raising their P-90s at the gate. But Stackhouse had just run to the top of the control room stairs, put his hands on his thighs, leaned forward, and gasped for breath as the rest of the away team calmly strolled through the gate.
"Stackhouse, you big baby," Cadman called as she walked in behind Zelenka.

Usually, doing Sheppard's paperwork was the calming, almost therapeutic part of Evan's day. But after the latest batch of off-world reports, he refused to redo all of the individual team member's reports because none were fit for SGC consumption.
Especially Stackhouse's. Because sometimes his read more like 'Letters to Penthouse' more than anything.

Summary
AR-1 and 3, plus Drs. Zelenka and Gray had left Atlantis right on time for their mission to M3L-973, under the watchful eyes of General O’Neill and Major Lorne. Sheppard had opted to get the minor issue of surveying the damage caused by Mariah’s powers out of the way first. It was an impressive sight. Her telekinetic abilities had almost tripled the size of the clearing, the debris sliding in between the rocks and trees that were still in place. Rodney found a way to take aerial photos of the damage through the Jumper. John really hoped the expedition leader had no plans to share them with the IOA. They would probably attempt to stick their noses in Mariah’s business again if they saw what she could do.
This is story six in my Hero series. Dr. Mariah Gray continues to learn about her powers and explores her relationships, both romantic and platonic. All original at this point. I had some loose ends I wanted to tie up, so let’s see what happens. The title comes from Hero by Enrique Iglesias.

The Hero Series has its first official one-shot… WOOHOO!!!! My beta for this series really wanted to see the scene where Jack discusses using Mariah as bait with John and Evan. The beginning of that scene was in my head from the moment I mentioned it in the story, so this wasn’t too hard to write. Takes place during Kiss Away the Pain, between scene one and two of chapter nine.

From the shadows of the ramp under the control room comes a tall, straight figure. Her hair is blood red against the white of her gown, the blue of her skin. Stopping in the centre of the gate room, she leans her head to the side, thoughtful.
“Greetings,” she says, and even through the MALP’s tinny speaker she has the voice of a chorus, thousands whispering. “Lanteans.” She shows her teeth in what might be a smile. “But we are the Lanteans, now.”
Elizabeth finds herself smiling too and that’s all wrong but she can’t stop it. She nods, once and says, even though the mic is off and the Wraith can’t hear her, “I think we’ll call you Jane.”

So this is story five in my Hero series. Dr. Mariah Gray continues to learn about her powers and explores her relationships, both romantic and platonic. Takes place during Stargate Atlantis Season 5, sort of. The major changes from canon continue in this story, even more so then in They Say a Hero Can Save Us. Currently, I’m mulling over using four, maybe five, of the episodes in one way or another. We’ll see how it goes… The title comes from Hero by Mariah Carey (bet you were wondering when I was going to use this song).

Jack was having an excellent day thus far. He woke up to the sun shining into his quarters and a gentle sea breeze wafting in through his balcony doors. He got up at a leisurely pace and ambled down to the Mess Hall, where expedition members stopped and chatted with him as if they hadn’t a care in the world (he really wished he could remember more of their names). Once he got to his office, he had a few matters to address, plus putting out a fire Dr. McKay stoked by berating one of his staff to the point of a mental breakdown. Then he got to meet with Dr. Gray. He was enjoying their get-togethers immensely and wasn’t disappointed. They reviewed the translation she had done that led the expedition to one of three Ancient shipyards in Pegasus. It was quite the find.

Takes place during Stargate Atlantis Season 4, sort of. I’ve started to make some major changes to the series and you’ll have to see which episodes I decided to keep.
