"Why are you like this, damn it?! You're just like-" Tank's voice suddenly cuts out. Surprisingly, he stops himself, but Ripp sees the angry sparks still flying from his eyes. The dangerous kind of curiosity gets better of him. Something doesn't let him quit.
"Come on." He opens his arms again, eyes glued to his brother. A silent bring it on, a red rug to a bull. "Say it."
Heat leaves Tank's face, but it's still in his eyes. It's different now. This isn't the anger that Ripp sees whenever his brother is about to get into a fight. It's colder, mixed with a drop of something else. Disgust? Fear? Pain?
His tone grows quieter, but not less hostile.
"You're just like mom."
