It started with a rock. Then, a sheet of paper. Then, the veil that fluttered by as Lance watched the love of his life get married to someone that wasn't him. Someone that would never be him. Finally, Lance decided to let it all burn, because what else could he do?
Based off the TikTok trend, where Lance is the knight that watches his new King and Queen get married while he stays in the back, forced to cover his tears with his cruelly cold metal helmet. He feels safe in the helmet, detached from reality. Like it's just a play he's watching and as soon as soon as it was over, everything would be back to normal again. But it wasn't. And it wouldn't. And it never will.

A few years later Keith announces his first tour as a solo k-pop artist. The crew decides to fly out to see him on his opening night, Lance joining as well to make amends with Keith and apologize.

He feels it when someone does something stupid and Lance looks to Keith first to see if he’s laughing too, only to find that Keith’s looking right back at him.
He feels it when they spar together (because that’s something they do now too) and Lance realises that it’s actually a challenge for both of them.
And he definitely feels it when he steals glances at Keith’s profile, noting the slope of his nose and how his brows knit together when he’s concentrating and how his tongue sticks out just ever so slightly too, and he wonders how nice it would feel to kiss those lips and run his fingers through that hair-
Overall, Lance appreciates the change in their dynamic.

As he attempted to put his thinking cap on, Lance smelled something deliciously sweet from the kitchen. He hadn't realized he was so close or that he'd been wandering aimlessly for as long as he had. As he neared the doorway, there was a headier undertone in the air. It was familiar, but he was so scrambled that he couldn't place it.

“Don’t you dare pull that shit with me, Leandro Agustín. I want every juicy detail immediately.” He wiggles his fingers threateningly, looking pointedly at Lance’s ribs — a known weak spot. “Do not underestimate what I will do to get this information.”
Lance shoves him and his wiggling fingers away, scrambling back with a laugh. “Okay, okay! I’ll tell.”

Summary
Shiro, Keith, Pidge, Hunk, Allura, and Coran are all getting along well in the castle of lions, fighting against the Galra forces and freeing captured planets. They're all fighting so hard, quickly bonding with one another, fighting and gaining the strength to save the galaxy from the same fate the Alteans experienced. They're all becoming a family, though rough and bumpy in the beginning, they're blending together as the war acts like sandpaper, smoothing the edges. All the edges except for tiny rough patch called 'Lance'.
Or the one where everyone in the castleship are bonding and becoming a team and family, except Lance just can't seem to get over his insecurities to join them. While he may not think so, they want him included just as badly as he wants to be included.

Lance has to amputate his leg, Keith finds him and brings him back to the castle of lions, and Shiro helps him get back on his feet having been in the same position Lance is now.
