    After his sacrifice to push the Eclipse Cannon away from Earth, Shadow the Hedgehog finds himself transported back in time to the moment of his arrival on Earth. Desperate to prevent the events of the future, he tries to stop G.U.N from discovering him but his paradoxical actions forcibly sends him into the White Space instead, a realm between time.

    Realising he wasn't strong enough to enact change and exist despite the paradoxes, Shadow searches the universe for the Chaos Emeralds that scattered during his transportation through time. But to do so, he needs to assemble a team to aid him, each wanting the power of the Chaos Emeralds for their own ends.

    But little does Shadow know, his past is catching up to him in more ways than one, and he must face it with allies old and new alike to ensure not only his survival but the planet Maria called home, as well as the rest of the universe.
