He hated this.
Why did he have to remember his friends being killed in front of him. Why did he have to live with that information. Why let him remember when he could do nothing. Useless. He was useless.
Astro curled into himself. He was tired. He didn’t want to do this anymore. If he was lucky he died before the other toons. If he wasn’t…he couldn’t look at the others for a good while.
He closed his eyes as he held himself tighter. At least he has one last heart. It’d be quick.

”Astro!” Sprout screamed.

”…You won’t—You never. You never remember. You never remember these runs…no one does. Even if they do, it’s all like a foggy dream to them.” Astro said as he softens his grip on Sprout’s shirt.
”What?” Sprout said softly.
”I tried to tell you before. Everyone. But they never remember. But I do! I have to! Why do you think I have so much knowledge on the Twisteds?”
”I thought it was because you were close to Dandy.”
”No! I mean—I was but he only sells things to us. He never tells me anything anymore…I had to-I had to learn how to deal with them by myself…and…experience.”
”…oh.”

Astro weakly chuckled before looking away sadly.”Cosmo was in tears. Inconsolable. Shelly and I had to drag him back to the elevator. He felt so much guilt, Sprout…I didn’t know how to comfort him because I was in shock too. I knew I’d see you again, back when I saw these as…a weird game since this was my fifth run. But it was still scary.”
“…The…The last run. I was…I was on one heart. You were right next to me, our stamina low, abilities too, when a Twisted Shelly spotted and ran towards us. I don’t-I don’t know why but you gave me a heart, you—you pushed me away and tried to distract her. I couldn’t do anything as I watched her-“ Tears fell from his eye from recounting the memory.

Astro laughed softly and sniffled a bit. “You’re fishing for compliments now huh?””I’m no Finn but I can certainly try.”
”Ha ha…”
Sprout looked away for a bit. He bit his lip in contemplation before turning to Astro once again.
”Astro?”
”Yes?”
“Let’s die together.”
Astro flinched. He immediately tried to wrench himself from Sprout but unfortunately was forced back into his hold again. Astro’s pupil shook as he stared into Sprout’s eyes. He was serious.
”Sprout I-I can’t.”
”We’ll be together this time. You and me. We’ll come back to the main area again, won’t we? It’ll take too long to get to the next floors too.”
”I-I guess but Sprout-“
”I love you. Y’know that?”
”…Yes.”
”Would you die with me?”
”I would…but—I don’t want. I know that you’ll forget this conversation but I—I don’t want to see you die.” Astro’s voice breaking quietly at the end.
”You won’t. I’ll cover your eyes. Just hold me when it happens, okay? When we get back and I don’t remember. Just tell me again. Write it down. Anything. I don’t want you to be alone on this, alright?”
”…”
”Alright?”
”…Okay.”
”I love you.” Sprout said as he squeezed him gently.
”I love you more.” Astro said with a tight smile.

Dandy's World. Once a very popular franchise, beloved and watched by hundreds, many even to the thousands. Everyone loved the show, and loved the actual place to meet their favorite Toons even more. But after an incident plagued the happy wonderland in disarray; Gardenview was shut down for good, with the public not knowing the full story to its abrupt end.
Until now.
Join the few human survivors, as they are all lured and gathered to Gardenview, with some hoping for a new job or secrets to what happened to this once wonderful place. They'll have to team up with Toons, confront the odd one out, risk their lives time and time again, lose loved ones...and stay in character.
There isn't an audience as big anymore watching their every move, but there is always someone watching everyone's move. If they just play their part, and snoop when they're not looking, they'll be safe and sound.
