    Dani moved to press down on the gash to staunch the bleeding, but as she did, she felt a barb push against her hand.
    The breath caught in her throat.
    Fuck.
    Fuck, the stinger was still in there. She couldn’t just leave it; it was definitely dripping with poison. She would probably die if she left it. She needed to get it out.
    Dani probed the skin with her fingers, shards of pain immediately stabbing into her. Yeah, there was no way she was going to be able to remove it by herself.
    Goddammit.
