Akihiko’s back straightened upon hearing the announcer’s voice, his eyes laser-focused on a certain blue-haired boy. Although he had complete faith in Minato, he could not help but feel nervous; this was his first competition after all. He placed his right hand on his chest, willing his heart to calm down. This was Minato who always gave it all if let be, and he had given it all for this. His time had been getting better too and he had finished with a new personal record during his last practice. Whatever happened, Akihiko could only feel pride when looking at Minato.And maybe… Maybe… Attraction, too.
But that was neither here nor there.

Haunted by guilt around his “Oops, watch the nosebleed!” failure to catch Yuuri the prior year, Viktor decides to write a “fix-it” fic about what he should have done at the Chu-Shikoku-Kyushu Regionals. It may prove to be his undoing.

From the rinks of Yubileyny Sports Palace in St Petersburg to the bustling city of Osaka and quieter Michigan suburbs, Yuuri chases his dream of skating against his idol and improbable best friend, getting tripped up along the way because growing up is never easy and it's even harder as an elite athlete with the eyes of a nation watching. But it'll all be fine as long as Yuuri doesn't do something stupid like fall in love with Viktor. Right? Right.
(It occurred to me that I should say that the title is not a typo. It's purposely "bear" as in "to carry".)

“Are you sure it's okay?” Mokona asked the minute Kurogane had slid the door open, flying up to greet him. He wasn't sure if the little creature just inherently knew what had happened or if it had managed to hear them somehow, but he wasn't about to question it. Mokona was much more mysterious than he'd first thought all those years ago.
“Of course it is,” Kurogane said defensively. “Why wouldn't it be?”
“...because you just gave up your home and good graces for me...” said a voice from the balcony. He noticed the breeze blowing in from the now open doorway on the opposite side of the room. It had grown dark outside, a storm brewing as the clouds came in. As such, the only sign that Fai was even outside was the bright, blue eyes looking back at Kurogane.

Junpei totally knew what gay people were, alright!? He'd read about them, even met a couple before. But it was kinda easy to forget about them when he didn't really have any of them in his day to day life, as far as he was aware. He figured he would have realized by now if there was. He could be stupid sometimes, he knew, but no way he was genuinely oblivious to that degree. So could you really blame him for thinking that people he had known for fucking months at that point coming out to him in their own strange ways was unexpected!? He didn't think you could. It was only a handful.
It turned out that you really, very much could. Blame him, that is.
Or: A self-indulgent attempt at writing a comedy fic where Junpei slowly realizes that he is, in fact, the only straight person in his life, in ways ranging from simple to wholesome to occasionally slightly mortifying.

Victor was silent for a moment. "And by this, you mean—" he didn't finish his question, but Yuuri understood what he was asking. Victor wanted Yuuri's boundaries.
"All of it." Yuuri said. "I just—" Yuuri finally pulled his hand away, deciding he needed a bit more concentration for this part, something he wouldn't have if he could still feel Victor. He looked down at his feet to gather his courage. "You should know that I haven't before. Not completely." The room was quiet, and the urge to fill it bubbled up. "There was never the right time, or the right person, and I know I'm twenty three, but—" Yuuri stopped when Victor put his finger under Yuuri's chin and forced him to meet his eyes.
Victor had a soft smile on his face. "I'd be honored to be your first."
Yuuri comes home from Russia alone and is forced to deal with his feelings for Victor.
