Mordred’s gaze stared at him blankly, all fight and emotion drained out of his body, his visage more akin to that of a corpse than a young boy. “It’s you, you’re the king from the prophecy.”
Arthur blinked. That made even less sense. “You must be mistaken.”
“I’m not. Emrys chose you, the Druids know it.”
“But wouldn’t I know?” Arthur narrowed his eyes. “This seems kind of important. I think I would know.”
Morgana intervenes early and Arthur winds up captured on an Angle ship with Mordred for company. Neither of them is particularly enthusiastic about this, but with Morgana's presence growing and Mordred's hands in iron chains, Arthur may be forced to face realities he did not wish challenged and use methods he condemned - even magic.

“The same thing I always have,” Prince Arthur says, sounding vaguely disdainful and unbearably posh. “One would think you’d remember my order by now."
Merlin scowls. He remembers His Haughtiness’ order perfectly well, but sees no reason to inflate an already unbearably large ego.
“You’re not my only customer,” Merlin keeps his voice coolly polite; barely.
“You realise that’s not the proper way to address me?”
And is that a smirk at the corner of the stupid prat’s, stupidly gorgeous mouth?

Summary
Lance has had to take care of his mentally ill half-brother Arthur most of his life. Though he's had to sacrifice a lot, he would do anything for his brother and refuses to complain. But things are starting to take a toll and Lance has to ask himself what is best for Arthur and for himself. Arthur isn't any happier with the way things are and desperately needs a change. When Arthur "wins" Merlin in a poker game, he changes their lives in ways neither Lance or Arthur ever imagined.
