Summary
They’d started this, whatever it was, back in the Atlanta camp. It’d been maybe the second week, and Avery had found him pretty. In that rugged way a stray dog was pretty. All loud bark, no bite. Just warning people off. Habit, fear. He reminded her of one of the dogs she’d taken in at fourteen. Some long furred mutt that was hanging around her grandparents farm. She’d named him Leo, coaxed that fearful dog close with soft praises and fresh treats. He’d snap his teeth and growl but never bit, never lunged at her. Just afraid. Daryl reminded her of that dog. All bark, no real bite. So she bugged him.

Summary
