“Yeah, yeah. Very relaxing,” Bad agreed, though he was hardly relaxed at all. How could he be, when Skeppy was shirtless, right in front of him, showing off his toned arms, the tendons in his neck stretching as he leaned his head back and put that necklace on display?
It was really obvious, looking at the two of them in the water together, that they were wearing matching necklaces: the long chains dangling the little charms right over their hearts.

Skeppy's eyes widened at that. A quiet part of his brain wanted to truly test that limit. It was screaming at him to push a little, to throw Bad off base. "Anything?"
"I mean.. Yeah?" Bad narrowed his eyes, recognizing the other man's goading tone instantly. "Maybe if you gave me like, a random stick you found and just claimed it was a gift I wouldn't love it but I'd like the sentiment of a gift, ya know? I feel like even with—"
"What if I gave you a kiss?"
Bad stopped his long winded explanation, mouth going agape at Skeppy's suggestion. "I— I mean.. You— What?" he sputtered hopelessly, eyes wide and confused.

"Bad," Skeppy called through the other end of the phone, making both Lucy and her owner perk up from their spots on Bad's bed. "Can I send you a hoodie?"
It had been a simple request, one that Bad would've agreed to instantly if it wasn't for Skeppy's suspiciously jovial tone.
Bad slowly sat up, staring curiously at his phone as if Skeppy could see him. "Is this a troll or something?"
"Nope! Not a troll, I just feel like sending you a gift."
"Okay, fine."
The conversation shifted to the usual topics like stream schedules and tennis matches, and Bad slowly forgot about Skeppy's odd request.
Until, his doorbell rang a few days later.

They had been playing this stupid game for so long, tiptoeing back and forth across the boundaries of platonic and romantic, blurring the line that had been drawn with nothing more than dry chalk in the first place, swishing and erasing it with every swirl, with every mumbled conversation late at night or early in the morning.
It was intoxicating, both addicted to the thrills, the tingles, the feeling of home that pulsed through their hearts whenever they talked or texted, the feeling of content, the smug satisfaction every time the other stopped whatever he was doing to spend however long with them, no matter who he was with at the moment.
-or: the obligatory Skephalo New Years meet up that totally is not a whole week too late, what are you talking about.

"You are making me want to throw myself into Hell again," Bad said, in that exasperated tone Skeppy had come to know so well, "and that's not a compliment."
Skeppy crossed his arms. "Then why am I in your house?"
"It's for surveillance purposes," Bad said primly. "An angel couldn't possibly understand the dark ways of Hell."
Skeppy raised an unimpressed eyebrow. "And why are you baking me muffins?"
Bad faltered, staring down at the egg he just cracked. "...Muffins are an ancient demonic murder technique."
The affection in Skeppy’s laugh must have been painstakingly obvious because Bad, too flustered to figure out a comeback, chucked a wooden spoon at him.
Perhaps Skeppy should have foreseen that, if falling from Heaven was possible, falling for a demon was too.

It’s a widely known fact that the easiest way to acquire knowledge is to find a demon and get it to seal a deal with you —it is why fame-hungry alchemists go exploring in abandoned buildings or greedily await when a distant relative or old professor bestows upon them their old alchemical workshop. For all the trouble a demon is worth, for most young alchemists the pros far outweigh the cons.
Skeppy finds himself an exception to this almost collective desire: he has a knack for what he’s doing, his beloved familiar and great friends. What would he need a demon for? And so when his late professor leaves him with no small fortune and a mansion dating back centuries, he naturally finds himself a little dumbfounded.
And a little afraid because of the voice that seems to taunt him from the shadows.

During Highschool, Skeppy picked up a fascination with the unusual and paranormal. Other's would mock, and tease him for his obsession, but of course few people ever actually believed in the existence of the supernatural. Skeppy himself during college starts to realize how silly it all is, and begins to lose hope that maybe the vexes and magic he read so much about were never real.
Halo is a demon by mistake from when he died, and after decades of never fulfilling his duties, and refusing to behave like a demon. He's chased, and in a race for his life he stumbles into the Overworld and straight into the human Skeppy. He must keep low and hide out keeping his new human friend away from his dark past, and dangerous pursuers.
